Very odd. Is there a passage in the bible that says married men cannot shave?
We've got a big community of Plymouth Brethren here where I live. The women all wear a little scarf on their heads......we've knicknamed them "Hanky Heads"

You picking on my Amish neighbors. Around here they use gas powered machinery to make their furniture. Karosene for lamps & lanterns & burn wood to keep warm. It takes to much time to shave they are busy from sun up to sun down. Besides those beards keep their faces warm in the winter. I like them they make the best pies, fudge, cookies, & candy. Some really neat quilts too.

I like them as well. Been to Amish Country many a time, just a few hours for me.
Hubby works with them a lot as well making the cabinets for custom homes.
They are very hard working and talented.
But the beard thing is part of their religion, that is how you can tell if a man is married, once married he is not allowed to shave.
I don't understand where in the bible it says one can have electricity at work but not at home, enjoy modern medicine at hospitals such as the ones in Akron, Ohio but not allow women to go about without a hanky on their head.
Yes they are forgiving and peace loving. Staying amounst themselves peacefully and living off the land.
Except when they are huge puppy mill owners in PA. To them a puppy is like an ear of corn, something to make money off of.
They are just filled with so much gobbly poo religion wise just like the rest of society I guess.
Which makes them no better or no worse then the rest of us except for their cooking which is really good homestlye.
