My new boss told me to take my time and get well and that I can telecommute if I want. I have known him for 25 years and he knows I'm not a flake luckily its someone I know.

I sit behind a desk so that part won't be bad although my office is a mile from the bathroom.

Thanks everyone you guys mean so much to me.

I am really sorry to hear this and I wish you all the very best.

It's so hard to admit to yourself that you need help. I can remember after my first knee surgery when I just had to give up and give in to my need for assistance.
The most important thing is to get better. The only way to do that is to rest and recuperate. Let your husband help you and don't be afraid to ask. He knows what you're facing and I'll bet he'll do anything he can to make sure your care is top priority.

When I finally started asking for help and did what the doctor said, I recovered quicker. It was a struggle until I was able to delegate.

I have pins in my left foot. It can be pretty painful to get around. Vicodin should be your best friend for awhile. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} My thoughts and prayers are going out.

    Motrin is a blood thinner.

So sorry you have to go through this....My husband had surgery in March to clean up a bunch of stuff and put a couple of screws in the top of his foot....He couldn't put any weight on it for 6 weeks....He got a scooter called a Roll-about.....I saw several in the doctor's office. They have a website where you can rent one....you put your bad leg with the knee bent on the scooter and push it around with your good leg.....He got around really well, and he didn't have the pain of the crutches....just thought I would pass that on!

I'm so sorry to hear it's such a bad break. Do take it easy and give it time to heal properly.

I'm sending lots of positive throughts that the surgery will go well and you heal up fast!

    (((hugs)))

My doctor just called to make sure I am staying off of it and he told me to rent one of those but he didn't know the name, thank you so much I will try to find one in town.

Aw mom, look what you did. I'm sorry it's such a bad break. I hope you feel better soon or you find an easier way to get around. I'm glad to hear you're getting it fixed with surgery soon. Best of luck with the surgery. I'll be thinking of you.

Thanks Hon...I just ordered a knee walker...it was $400, my insurance wouldn't cover it I ordered it from walmart using the site to store option so I would get free shipping and I can return it if it doesn't work for me.

    BTW your Mom's a klutz!

Just asking for some thoughts for tomorrow, surgery is at 9. I am scared and hoping for a good outcome, I did some research and this could cause me a lot of trouble as I age...I sure hope it doesn't. Once the screws are in I have to be a lot more careful than I have been.

Its really hard to get around and my daughter is graduating next week, this is really a bummer. Kaiser is delivering a wheelchair tomorrow so hopefully I can make her ceremony.
