Well Soledad I find you offensive too, since I see the majority of people posting find me offensive then I guess I will leave, I'm sorry that this has turned into a conflict, I am an American and I love my country and I will not stand to see it trashed by the likes of Ann or anyone like her.. I don't find her offensive I find the things she has to say about my country offensive, I doubt I would be welcomed in Sweden if I said the things she has said here.
PetTalk has been a wonderful place for us all to gather to talk about our pets, I'm sorry it has become a platform for hate and discontent with a few like you. It seems you are only happy when you both start a conflict of some sort. Why don't you lay off of Gini, she is a nice person doesn't have a racist bone in her body and certainly is not ignorant.
You never have a good word for anyone.
To all my friends on here, I appreciate all the nice things you have said, the concern you showed for Perry and Daisy, and the love you have given me, I guess it's time for me to say goodbye.
I wish you all good luck and good health.

Lots of things to clear up here, I can see.

    1. There is a difference between criticising and trashing. Please learn it.
    2. You would still be welcomed into Sweden if you made disparaging remarks about it. It's not a totalitarian state. Other countries besides America have freedom of speech.
    3. PetTalk has NOT become a platform of hate and discontent. You seem to have MAJOR problems with anyone having opinions divergent of your own. Perhaps you are just set in your ways.
    4. Look at my posts, I do have a good word for people. Stop generalising.
    5. I said either Gini had worded her thoughts poorly or was treading on some rather racists grounds. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. It is not right to dictate what an entire population does/does not do based on race.

My nieces and nephews are of Korean descent, and they don't own any wild dogs that attack. I don't want them to grow up in a country where they're not seen as "full" Americans, or people who mistreat animals and break laws.

Reading this thread makes me a little bit sad... Guess, we should all realize that WE ALL share ONE common thing, and that's our LOVE for our pets... We come here to vent, to console our pet lover friend in cyberspace, to laugh at those funny pictures , to cry, to laugh or just to merely read what everyone has to say ...

I won't take sides, 'coz I do believe that neither jackie nor Ann has any intention of offending anyone... Sometimes, because of our passion in voicing out our opinions, we say things that HURT other people UNINTENTIONALLY... These things happened not only here at Pet Talk but in our everyday lives... But as a responsible, true loving individual, I do believe that ANYTHING can be patched up or ironed out if we are willing to fix things up...

We are all friends in cyberspace, and i hate to see any member leave just because we don't share common opinion... Regardless of nationality, color , age , race or religion, nothing can beat our true passion for our loving pets..

Miss Jackie, please don't leave Pet Talk... I beg, if I need to... We need you here..

    Ann, please don't leave too

We are all friends in cyberspace.. We all have one common goal - and that's to express our true love to our pets and to protect any animals in any possible way that we can..

Have a wonderful day everyone and God bless !

What is this, gang up on Jackie night?

I 'd suggest any one who thinks that Gini or Jackie are
making racist statements please read the above link on
this particular breed of dog. It is a Korean Breed and the
link to info on the temperment and nature of the breed is
written by a Korean man who admires the breed . Please
read past the first few pages on the link. Pages 12-16 are
especially revealing of the the Jindo nature .The link(with pics)
shows how a typical island dog & human family co-exist.
The Korean island mind-set does not translate at all to a
typical urban setting such as L.A.(or any other large urban
city) There are no leash laws in Korea. There are very strict
leash laws in most American cities. It may be a culture thing,
Whatever, an unleashed and unrestrained dog that attacks
other animals should not be tolerated in any U.S. city.
There are city ordinances(not strong enough) to deal with
the owners & the animals that violate the law.
An unleashed guard dog laying in the road in front of the
owners house might work in some small Korean village, but
certainly does not work here in American cities.
Gini made no racist statements, neither did Jackie. What we're
trying to discuss here, is the prevalence of unprovoked dog
attacks made by uncontrolled dogs of any citizen , in any
    American city.

I don't think either Gini or Jackie meant to sterotype Korens or anybody else or any breed of dog. I believe it was stated and meant in general statement such as - Americans like to throw their money away foolisly - well it just a statement about Americans that spend a lot of money ect. in what ever area this statement is made about.

Things have been said on this site by others about America in a degrading way. And even though this was said over a year ago it is remembered by Americans on this site that will stick up for their country and feel very hurt by those words.

And thats a poor joke if you think that Jackie is offensive to others. She say the most kind things to others on this board and has for the long time she has been a member here.

So you don't all need to try and be the all- mighty one here.

    It was this statement...

"My limited knowledge is that Koreans ignore our laws and do not license them, or give them the proper shots unless Animal Control follows through. "

That's why I raised the issue. It seemed poorly worded. I think anyone can see why it did not bode well with me. But I'm sure I'll be forced into some sort of deconstruction.

The few times I've seen JackieDaisy on here she has been rude to either me or someone online, which is why I made my statements, especially when she accused me of never having a nice word for anyone.

    Stop it, everyone, RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!

    This is Pet Talk.

Everyone is here because we hold one important thing in common - our love of pets. I am sorry this thread has gotten out of hand and feelings have been hurt. Let us stop, now, and begin to heal.

No one should stereotype peoples, nationalities or breeds here. No one here should "trash" another's beliefs. People should remember that we are all here because of our love of animals.

This thread started with an unfortunate event. We feel bad for the people and the pets involved. That said, I do not think anyone should ever post that they wish an animal would die, you can think it, but please, do not post that here without considering that anyone can read this forum, even owners of Jindos, Pit Bulls, Labradors, Siamesse cats, everyone, including children, can read this board. Be minful of that before you hit "Submit reply."

The reason we are here is because we are all passionate about our pets and those of others. Passionate people sometimes say things they may later regret. We need to stop, right now, and let everyone settle down on this matter.

DO NOT POST in this thread until you are absolutely sure what you are going to say is not hurtful. We don't need to "run anyone off," we do need to be kind to each other.

    Please!

    Please!

Go pet a pet. Be glad you and your animals are safe right now, I am glad. I worry about Miss Hoppy sometimes but we just did "raisin time" so she is happy, and safe.

A few days ago, the Dog of the Day's owner said "If everyone had a dog like Dakota, the world would be a better place!" Do you not feel that way about your pets? I know that bunnies would get a lot more respect from people if they all knew a bunny like Miss Hoppy!

Take a deep breath, and go give somebody a raisin, a biscuit, a tummy-rub ... whatever makes them happy!

OK thats it, I have had enough about the country fighting & who said what & so on. For crying out loud I live in CANADA, & a vast majorty of "people" think we live in iglues & travel by dog & eat raw fish & blubber, I have met alot of these people on the net & in person when I travel to a different "country" u don't see me freaking out, I love my Country too, but I really don't care what others think nor say, because I'm old enough to know what I like & not to fight. & if people around here can't get along I think we need to grow up a bit & think of how silly this fight really is. Fighting is wrong, did any wars really solve anything? come on were all people here, dissagreaments & different opinions happen, its natural, were only human, but were not ANIMALS! We have a brain so we can think of right & wrong & we all know FIGHTING is wrong. If people arn't going to grow up, then stop talking to eachother & stop fighting with eachother. My dad taught me that I'll always be picked on by bullies if I kept fighting back or yelling at them, but the second I acting as if they wern't there, they stoped. I grew up alot that day, & boy was my dad right. so I was us all to grow up & continue to enjoy chatting & bragging & having diff opinions & being friendly with each other.

p.s. almost forgot, we all have a very important tool & its called forgiveness.

Jackie, when I first joined this board, you were probably the first person I met, and one of the nicest too. I really appreciate you, and I love your dogs. Please don't leave. I really don't think what Ann said was anything wrong, and I don't think Jackie is "offensive" at ALL! People are just very defensive of their countries, it is a part of them. PLEASE listen to Sammi and Karen!!

Gosh, see I thought only the Japanese ate sushi, you're saying Canadians do, too? Just kidding about the "raw fish" comment! My bosses LOVE sushi, my Dad calls it "bait." But I don't let them fight about it, either!

    Grrr...

I'm sorry this sort of tumbled into the mess that it is. I was quite annoyed, but it's over. Obviously, my point was completely lost...but there are more important things. Sorry to all involved, but I still stand by my comments.

Ya, I also have a dog team of 8, made up of pure breed huskies, oh wait!! how silly of me, huskies r hardly ever used as sled dogs anymore... now its husky + malmute + hound mutts... bet a lot of people didn't know that... & yes I did have a 1 dog team when I was 11-14, Max was my sled dog & when I was 16, my friends Rottweiler was our sled dog.. BUT I REALLY DON"T EAT RAW FISH, I hate fish!! hehehe

this is a fun conversation... hahahaha

Lol Jess, yes a very nice conversation. I won't even get into what people think of me when I say where I live. From what I hear, the most popular "sled dogs" right now are Alaskan Huskies. Not really a "breed"....just a line of dogs bred for racing, that are very fast. I'm not quite sure why I was compelled to comment on this lol.

The alasken huskies ur the mixed breed I was talking about, its hard to imagin that there is hound in there, but the used hounds because they have long legs & fast legs. some of the dogs coats r so thin, they have to wear coats & booties... hehe.. just like my dog Max
    Max is such a sissy
max is well trained & I taught him a command called teeth & open.
I tell max to bare his teeth & then open his mouth. I taught him this because hes such a friendly dog, he just looks silly baring his teeth
    heres a photo of him

    Jess
    P.s.
I'm high in caffeen right now, so if I'm making little sence, just go with it... heheh
