Thank you Wolf_Q!
I just knew in my heart that he was the one - there was no particular moment that it hit me. But just a couple months into dating him, a rival for my affections said, "Well, then, when you break up with him, will you go out with me?" and I said "I don't plan on breaking up with him!" And I haven't yet!![]()
I've Been Frosted
LOL this is kind of an interesting story...
When I met John at Dennys, his ex was taking him out that night as a sympathy dinner for breaking up with him. I struck up a conversation and the rest is history there but what was funny was what his ex said as I was leaving. He told me she said "Wow, it looks like you found your soulmate"
I was hooked when he told me that story...a few weeks after we started dating lol.
I'm divorced but, if I had my way, we'd still be married. I know, I know, you want a true love story but, without going into a long, boring story as to why we're divorced, let me just tell you how I knew he was the one. I was a single mom w/a 5 year old son, without much hope of finding someone to want me and my son and we were a package deal. On the second date, John took me shopping for toys for my son, never even having met him yet. On the third date, the three of us went out together. Later, we were sitting on the sofa watching TV w/my son between usand my son put his arm around John and his other arm around me and said "The three of us. Together." John said "Yep!" and that sealed it for me. I'm getting choked up just typing this. We were together for nearly 24 years before it ended but we're still good friends to this day.
Blessings,
Mary

I actually met hubby when I was 9 and he was 11. We went to the same church. Many years went by and one day he appeared in church in his Air Force uniform. (He was on leave). I couldn't keep my eyes off him during the service. That week, out of the blue, he called me and asked me out. That was the beginning of it all.

I knew I was in love with him after just a few weeks of dating. I knew he was the one pretty much the same day I fell totally in love with him. We started dating at Thanksgiving and were talking marriage by Valentine's Day. That was 7 years ago, we're married 6 years, and I still feel the same way about him.
The way I look at it is this: No matter what goes on (life sure does have its share of trials, and it tests marriages pretty hard) at the end of the day, do you go to bed thinking you can't imagine life without him? Even when I'm furious with my husband, I still can't imagine not having him here with me. I realize I'm furious with the situation, not him, and it gets me by the hard stuff. I never dated anyone where I felt that way before. I always felt like they lacked something I needed, or they didn't understand me.

Your story sounds exactly like our! We too met as children in church. Only I am 5 years older than himso I really didn't 'notice' him until he was older, although he told me he had a crush on me since he was 14.
His sister and I are good friends, she was divorced the same year I was so we started going out together (yes, looking for guys!!) Then she became pregnant...... She asked Tim & I to be the babies Godparents (maybe she knew something before I did!!).
Tim was in the Navy for 7 years while I was in a bad marriage. I got out of the marriage, Tim got out of the Navy. We were at his sister's house one day for a birthday or something, we talked, 2 days later he called and asked me out.
We went out for dinner & a movie, that was Memorial day 1989 and that was the first day of our lives. We took a trip to San Diego for his birthday, July 4th, and by October we were engaged. We got married on February 17, 1990. Quick, I know but we didn't have to go through the meeting of the parents or the getting to know you stage because our families had been friends for many years.
He said he 'knew' when he was 14. Ok, so it took me a little longer, but I think I realized it in San Diego. So glad he waited for me!!![]()
