I cannot express to you in words how very sorry I am to hear of Bowser's trip to the bridge. Was it time? Prolly past time. You gave Bowser the best possible life anyone could. A second home. A second chance. I can only imagine that love flowing from Bowser to you was equal to the love flowing from you to Bowser.

Many special prayers being sent, to carry Bowser to the RB, to the pups and kat still with you, and for you, dear, dear, Phred.

    Love,
    Johanna

    Amen!

I finally made it back to finish reading your beautiful post Phred, I was crying far too hard this morning to finish reading it.

Oh... Bowser was loved by so many people!
You are just as lucky to have had him in your life as he was to have you in his.

    {{Hugs}} to you also Tonya.

When I read your email this morning my own reaction was to break out in uncontrolable sobs. And that old wave of grief gripped me as though it was my own that had been lost.

In a way, Bowser did belong to all of us. Phred from the very first time you heard about Bowser and your incredible trip to rescue him, I think all of us fell in love with him. "yes, we are going to find Bowser a good home".........we all privately laughed at that, because it was clear that Bowser DID have a new home and he wasn't going anywhere.

You should be so proud of yourself, you gave this elderly gentleman a great life filled with fun and adventure for the final years of his life. He must be running around telling everyone at the Rainbow Bridge his good fortune in being adopted by such a wonderful man.

My heart breaks for you and Tonya as well. It is a huge loss and it will take some time to settle into the reality.

I give you the biggest hug possible..........I really wish that I could.

    Love, Gini

I am so sorry to read that Bowser passed on. I had followed the Bowser stories from way back when, even if I didn't reply. He was always a favorite of mine here on pettalk. What a sweet dog.

Well, you made his last few years full of life and i am sure he will always be grateful for you being his angel in disguise. Thank you for taking him in and allowing him to share in your life and Cinder and Smokeys.

My goofy boy Dale is up there and I am sure he welcomed Bowser with lots of sloppy licks I wish I could watch them play up there, I can think of what it must be like for them at the Bridge, everyday must be beautiful. Enjoy those streets of gold Bowser, you will be fondly missed.

Bowser was a lucky dog. Not many seniors find a such a perfect home late in their lives. It takes a special kind of person to adopt an animal knowing they will leave sooner rather than later. I'm glad Bowser found that kind of person and sorry he didn't get more time with his "new Dad".

Godspeed Bowser. Rest well, little fella.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Phred. Hugs and prayers for your hurting heart.

I know that PT's very own Corrina was there with the other grandmas waiting with open arms for Bowser to welcome him to his final home....

I can not cry and type at the same time. I will have to reply again when I am home and not at work. You know how many hearts are heavy today with prayers and love for you and all you stand for my dear friend

Oh, Phred, I am so sorry! I can't believe Bowser is gone. He will be sorely missed by all of us - I am surprised to find it was only two years you had him - it seems like much longer that he has been a part of the PT family. It will be very sad not to see him on Sunday with Smoke and Cinder on their three way leash tied to the tree at the shelter overseeing the cooking of burgers, hot dogs etc. Or see his slow meandering gate as he takes his time walking around the dog park too dignified to get caught up in the antics of the younger dogs.

You have indeed been a hero to an old dog who needed a home to go "home" from. Not many people would go the the lenghts you did to "save" him and give him such a loving home in doing so.

    RIP Bowser!

I can't tell you how sorry I am that you have lost Bowser.

Thank you so much for giving him his wonderful final years, and for giving all of us the chance to know him. I will certainly never forget the effort and adventure of rescuing Bowser, or the stories he told us.

Rest in peace sweet Bowser. An awful lot of people loved you, Tonya and Phred most particularly. Perhaps you can look after them now.
