This is a horrible reason to have one of the largest threads in Pet Talk history, but Kay, that must help you to know that you have so many people who support you and love you and want Kiara to be back at home where she belongs.

I know you are working diligently to put up signs, make calls, etc, but make sure you don't forget to look for signs, too. I have a very good example for you of why you need to keep your eyes open for the "found" signs.

Years ago, my best friends had to leave for Florida, suddenly, and they asked me to please keep their two children with me so that they could leave to be with friends who had lost a child. Several days before, their Lab, Lucky, had disappeared. They had to leave town, knowing that Lucky was still out there somewhere. Just by chance, Matthew, Hannah and I stopped at the dry cleaners near my house (not near their house) and there was a sign beside the door about a "found" yellow Lab. The woman wanted a description from any callers. I called my friends on their cell phone and asked for anything that might distinguish Lucky from just any Yellow Lab. I had the feeling it was him, and I was right! When I called, we went up to identify him and luckily, he immediately knew the children and went nuts and I had been able to give her a pretty good description of him on the phone. Lucky was found! But it was such a rare chance that this could even happen.

Don't give up (I know you won't), but keep your eyes peeled and ask friends to do the same thing. You never know.

    Love,
    Logan
