My son and his girlfriend are officially engaged!

Brandon and Ashley are engaged! Today was Ashley's birthday and Brandon presented a beautiful engagement ring and asked her to marry him. Alden and I are very happy for them. No idea about a wedding date yet, but I do know that Brandon's lease is up in December and they are hoping to buy a house.

What made me super happy is that Brandon came to us and told us what he had in mind and asked me to go ring shopping with him and even said to see if grandma and grandpa(my parents) wanted to go also. He already had in mind what he wanted to get so I think he wanted us along to make sure he was getting something decent and BOY, did he ever! My mom and I both loved it and wouldn't have minded having it for ourselves...lol. That was a great family day for me

. The hard part was waiting for today to get here. Mom and I wanted to be there so bad so we could see her face when he pulled out the ring, but Brandon said, NO WAY, he didn't want to kill the romance

That's the big news in my house and I felt like sharing with everyone

Yeah, that's often true of guys with longer hair. I think that's because guys don't do everything to torture their hair that women do! (My first job ever (besides babysitting) was at a wig salon, and many shoppers were women who'd done such terrible stuff to their hair that it was breaking or falling out in protest!)

Pam, I hope you are right about the wonderful mother-in-law part, but I have to confess that I have already committed the first big no-no and asked when I can expect some grandkids

. Brandon and Ashley have been together for 6 or it might even be 7 years now, so we know each other pretty well. Especially since they always hung out here at our house until Brandon moved out. She knows all my good and bad sides...lol.
