I am in agreement with Crazy-Cat-Lover.

BUT Warahgirl1995, that comment about Briana being a "bad example" was totally rude and uncalled for. You shouldn't be saying this because if I remeber correctly, many threads you have started turned into an argument and YOU started them. How is she a bad example?? I HIGHLY doubt you would enjoy being brought up in controversial posts and arguments so why do it to anyone else?? Can we PLEASE stop this stupid argument now!

I'm selling my own items to buy better food for my dogs. Don't see you starting to buy better things for your dogs. Didn't see you trying to the best of your ability to keep Max. Oh good for you.. I thought you just got them the other day? That would be a bit soon to say for a long time. I never mentioned anything about the bedding, and it could always go to the shelter if you don't use it. Umm, actually yes I was brought into this conversation, and it seems lately because I'm a "bad example" everyone is bringing me into their conversations. I'm tired of it. You don't know me, you don;t have the right to call me a "bad example" when you shouldn't be talking, and you have no right to judge me. I only said something negative, because I do happen to care about the wellbeing of animals.
Actually, I was going to use my $106 of allowance, along with a day of dog walking's money, to buy Max a cable, chain, dog house, toys, and everything. My parents said no and wouldn't let me buy it, so I used to for dogs at the shelter. I did try the best of my ability to keep Max. The BEST of my abilities, and they got me grounded for a looong time.
Where were you brought into this conversation?
Can't find anything? Hmm... I think I know the reason... you brought yourself into this.

This arguement is stupid. I see too many threads where Bri is put down, and too many threads just generally turning into arguements. 5 hamsters is a lot to get at one time if you ask me, but if you are caring for them, then there is no problem. Do not keep syrians together. I will keep an eye on this thread but really I don't want to see the arguement progress further.

    **********I will not argue*********

I am glad you got hamsters but 5 is alot to take on at once. At least you have you siblings help

Can I ask you a few questions?

What cages do you have currently? If you have crittertrail or habitrail for example you need at least two cages attached for one hamstr. Syrian or dwarf. If you have wire cages what are the dimensions? Using an aquarium what size? Also you don't buy bin cages at a petstore you buy them say at wal*mart and make them yourself. All you have to do is drill holes in them if you don't want to go all fancy

What shavings are you using? Pine or Cedar? http://www.hamsterhideout.com/forum/...?showtopic=778 Check out that link. Here is a link that talks about some safe bedding and shavings. http://www.hamsterhideout.com/forum/...showtopic=2464

What wheels are you using? Runged wheels are bad and can hurt the hamsters feet. Make sure you use solid surfaced wheels.

Are you picking out the sunflower seeds from their food? Sunflower seeds are fattening so to much is unhealthy.

Please do not take my post rudly. It is not intended that way.

Never brought myself into this, was just giving an example, then it was turned into an argument. I'm done with this thread, and tired of being bashed at.

The Syrians have wire/plastic cages and the Dwarfs have a wire cage. The shavings I am using are neither of those but I am using a cotton substance. The wheels I am using are plastic and dont have any wire or metal on them. Yes, I am picking the sun flower seeds out of their food.

Best of luck with those Hammies!

Now, come on guys. You are BOTH at fault as you are both contributing to this conversation. Pet talk is not about who takes better care of their animals.

Hamsters+Cotton=BAD!!! Get it out. Cotton can strangle, if injested it can clot and cut insides. It is not safe. I suggest you get it out now.

Cages need to be big. Don't forget

    I don't think it's... cotton exactly. It's this:

Well she said cotten. So I assumed she ment cotton. But if she is using carefresh then best of luck and it is a paper based product not cotton

I know that what I use for my hamsters beds. To me personally it doesn't resemble cotton
