Always, if they dont, and they see a cat or squirrel... o_o that would be some bad luck.

I answered for Happy, she is almost never leashed, no need I can control her ten times better with just my voice then I can with any leash, Misty is fine walked off leash in some areas, for example I dont leash her on the bike path or back allys, I only leash her on the streets. the other 3 are kept leashed exept when in parks.

Well, I don't have a dog, but when I take my neighbour's dog, Bonnie, for walks, I always keep her on a leash. I would like to let her loose in a park, and she probably wouldn't do anything bad, but I'd be scared of losing her. If she was my dog, then I would, it's just that she's not as used to me as she is to her owners, and if she began to wander off she might not come back to me. I think it's great to see dogs having fun off leash in the park though

I always take them for walks with leashes on! Especially since I live in the city, there is NO WAY I'd even think about walking them leashless, waaay too many dangers for me to feel comfortable!

Kodie can't be offleash.I've been working with his 20ft lead with come commands but that hound in him makes him so stubborn.Lucy can be offleash, but she's onleash when we go for walks. Here youre alowed to have your dogs offleash on the sidewalks.

Always. Molli cannot be off leash because she'll run away, and Sam will run after any other person or dog he sees and I'm afraid he'll get hit by a car. It's always safer to keep your dogs on a leash.

The shelties are almost never on a leash.... the only time they have leashes on is if I take them into a pet store. I always have trouble finding their collars and leashes because we never use them.

    *Thanks Ashley*

We drive to the parks so leashes are not neaded. Penny and Theo dont even have leased taken for them, they dont go far and their recalls are pretty much fault free. I take leases for C, E & T, but rarely have to leash them. The only time they are leashed is when we are at training, walking in the country around livestock etc.

When I had my old dog, I'd only use the leash to cross the street. Once on the other side he was free & would run all around me having a blast. He had a great recall & had no need to chase anything, so there were no worries with him.. If I was walking in our neighborhood he would be off leash & I didn't need a leash to cross the streets, as he was street trained...

Pagan does, because I've not had her long and she is not well trained. Even though we put a leash on Natalie, Sirius, and Hogan when we take them to the park, etc, we rarely actually hold the leash. At home, they go out off-lead unless it is raining, then Natalie has to be on leash to coax her out into the rain. On long walks, they are usually all on leash, because we do encounter other dogs.
