I know someone(an elderly couple)that submitted their doggie's pic and story to DOTD a few months ago. His name is Pepper and he's a standard Schnauzer from Deland, Florida. They are such a nice couple and the wife is in a wheel chair due to amputation many years ago. I would love to see Pepper get DOTD honors and it would make them so happy. Pepper is their whole life

I sent in a profile for Bassett ages ago, when she was still alive. It actually broke my heart that she was never chosen because she was a very special kitty to me and to a lot of people on this site.

I just completely gave up on it.

I sent mine in for my horse, Sis, when she was still alive, that was probably in 2004. I also gave up on it..

Just look at all the people who have posted here, who are part of the board ..... and imagine how many other people have submitted who may never be part of the board.

Don't give up .......... I think you should just re-submit once a year ....... until you get selected.

As for the pics .... I know I submitted my Captain boy, and our Mayor kindly emailed me and said ....."don't you have his feet hidden somewhere?". So I withdrew and am waiting for the day I get that perfect, beautiful shot to re-submit.

    So Karen, beware ...........

Yeah, just re-submit. I sent Mickey's first entry in February 2005.. then again in June 2005 and he was chosen on October 3, 2005. Just a day before his gotcha day!

You know what I noticed? Every time there is a DOTD I have no clue who owns that dog or anything. Can people who don't have an account on PT submit their dog?

Yes. Anyone anywhere who has a pet is allowed to submit their animals for PetoftheDay.com, DogoftheDay.com and CatoftheDay.com. Those sites existed long before Pet Talk!

I say never be discouraged. There has to be thousands of people who submit their pets, me included and we've never been chosen either. It must be a very hard decision for our wonderful moderators (either that or luck of the draw!).
We all have very special animals to us and there are only so many days in a year! So be patient and you just might be next

I first submitted Tango's almost 2 years ago and just sent one again a couple weeks ago but I do understand that there are probably tons of dogs submitted everyday so I'm not discouraged in the least.

I might not get discouraged if I knew how things were chosen. I know that I submitted pictures before people on here even OWNED pets they have submitted and were chosen. I don't think the choice process is fair.
