I got my first two tattoos when I was 17 (I'm now 22) and I dont regret them although I do wish the colors on my butterfly were a little brighter(the man who did my latest one said he could do that for me) I am looking into getting a tribal underneath my butterfly as well as a celtic cross. I haven't found any I really like yet so I will continue looking. If you aren't sure about a real tattoo get airbrushed or get a temp until you are SURE of EXACTLY what you want.
As far as my celtic knot went I asked my tattoo artist what colors I should go for(I liked the style of the shamrock but not the colors on the board) and I told him I liked the brighter green and maybe a little yellow. He made it beautifulAlso, make sure you go to a good tattoo shop with good references if you get one. Be safe and make sure they use new needles EVERY TIME!
