I am sorry for your loss - even an expected death is a time for grief and mourning. Consider yourself blessed that you has a gradparent when you were an adult. I was 13 when my last remaining grandparent died.

Carmen, I am very sorry to hear this. It's never easy losing someone you love whether they're sick or not.

Hugs to you and your family.

I am so sorry for your loss. My last grandparent left me about 5 years ago. The others were gone long before.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Carmen.

Carmen I am very sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. My grandfather passed away a week and a half ago and it feels like it just happened today. He and I were very close. If you ever need to talk or anything, feel free to PM me. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Oh, I'm so sorry about your grandpa! That's just awful...I know my grandparents aren't far from death, and I just know when they pass on, that it's going to crush me! I just try to not take them for granted and love them constantly!

    Thanks Kay!!

    Thank you to everyone here.

It's difficult for me because he lived with us for over 15 years.
I thought he'd make it til December (my visit to Italy) so I could have said my goodbye. We all knew it was going to happen but not so soon.
I guess we were prepared but not at the same time.
    I'm worried about my mom.
I spoke to her this morning and she almost seemed cheery. I know it was all a face.... so that we wouldn't cry on the phone.
I just wish I was there for her.

    sigh...

My condolances to you and your family.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Carmen, no matter how much notice you have, you are never prepared. My grandfather was ill for a year and a half before he finally passed. We knew it was coming, but it still hurt when he left us.

Do what you can to reach out to your mom. She needs you as much as you need her. Just be there for each other as we are here for you.
