Lut, AIM is aol instant messenger. No it isn't just for the US I chatted with a Pettalker from Japan.

I consider many people here to be friends - the ones I have met in person and the ones I haven't. To say that you won't add any "strangers" from this site to your chat progs is drastically limiting yourself to potentially wonderful friendships. I consider Pet Talkers to be family, not strangers !

Although I can't speak for the entire Pet Talk community, as there are many members.......I consider all of the active Pet Talkers friends too! The 2 people that I talk to the most on AIM are from Pet Talk, and I consider them some of my best friends!

I'll admit I don't add people to my AIM often. I only have 5 people on there right now....although I've talked to other people on there (feel free to send me a message any time! ) I just forget to add them. I used to have yahoo messenger and ICQ also. I ended up adding so many people to my yahoo messenger, that I forgot who 90% of them were lol....and ICQ...I kept getting people sending me porn messages! Bleh, so AIM is the only one I use now, and I like it........I don't have AOL either...

I don't quite see the difference between responding to a forum like this, or chatting....it's a conversation either way. If you don't direct connect or anything, you could talk to them just the same on here.

Popcornbird is just very cautious with info she gives to people. I guess that is good and the safe thing to do, I'm just not that cautious! If I'm going to have the internet, I'm going to have fun with it! Plus, if I can't give out any of my information, then there's no way I could be doing Pet Portraits.
