Snape was an accomplished Occulomens (sp?) which means he could hide his thoughts. It is completely plausible that Snape had Dumbledore conned all along!
i thought Dumbledore's death was lame, especially since he was weakened by a bogus Horcrux.![]()

I just finished the book . I have ideas for what could be in the last book . I don't know if you want them posted here I'll wait to see if you do.
But it sure left it to lots of possiblities.
I'm hoping Harry doesn't die. It's too expected and it would be too easy for her to kill him off. I'd like to see Ron die, I think. I love Ron, but I think his death would be more meaningful, especially if he and Hermoine end up together.Originally posted by wolfie
Ooh, I like the idea that Harry is a Horcrux. I think that Harry is going to die at the end. I mean, if he doesn't, how can he possibly live a normal life after? It's like Frodo...
I just finished the latest Harry Potter book tonight....I made myself go back and reread all 5 of them first before I would even allow myself to buy the 6th. And I am really glad that I did..it made it so much more intriguing...I could remember all the things that were referenced from one book to the next...and believe it or not, none of them were boring! It's really hard for me to read books again after I have read them once because I start to remember what has happened and lose interest. But not this time...granted, the first one was a little dull but I still lost myself completely in them...
I was bawling earlier...I completely did not see Dumbledore dying coming at all...I thought Harry would try to do an inaudible curse or whatever they are called, the ones they can do without speaking and learned all year, and get Dumbledore's wand back to him. On the second chapter, where Snape makes that Unbreakable Vow, I had to put the book down, I was so upset!! I called my friend in California who had already read the book to tell her how upset I was already. I didn't read it at all yesterday because I was mad!! Silly I know, but I've always been a huge reader and when I read a really good book, I get so lost inside it....it becomes so real to me...
I gave a sigh of relief when Snape came up the stairs and then he did the unthinkable...I looked around me and could not believe that the world was going on like normal, like nothing had happened...(Told you, I get REALLY into reading!! I know, I'm a dork!!)
I hate finishing the books though....now I feel like I have lost a friend...I guess I can look forward to rereading all of them again when the final one comes out. I don't want anyone else to die though...Except the bad guys of course!
Poor Harry, he keepls losing everyone he loves....it's too much I think. At some point JKR has to give us a completely happy ending....at least that is what I would like to see!

"As for the quick Snape/Dumbledore death scene, I can't help but wonder
if maybe Dumbledore was actually pleading Snape to kill him. Now I'm not
sure that I beleive it, but it would be a possibility for the next book.
Since there was so much faith in Snape, maybe this was something
Dumbledore had agreed to in order for things to happen in the future."
I love this idea...Dumbledore has never done anything without a reason and Harry does say that Dumbledore said "Severus" with a plea in his voice...Maybe he would rather have been killed by one of his "own" than by one of the Death Eaters. And that now Snape has an inside track to Lord Voldemort and will help Harry in the end....?
Just as an aside, do any of you watch the movies? I saw the first one with Collin as he really wanted to go and has to-date, only read the first book. But they just don't do anything for me....? I watched it again last week right after I reread the first book but I found myself rereading the second book and just having the movie as background noise!!It's interesting to see the interpretation of the characters by Hollywood but I prefer my own!
And SO MUCH is left out...all the feelings and undercurrents...I have always preferred books to movies though so I'm probably not a good judge.
There may be a big clue early in Prince..."there is a large amount of Polyjuice potion in the dungeon..." Much havoc can be wreaked with that. Also in Goblet of Fire Moody wasn't really Moody for most of the book. Just something to think about...![]()

Yeah, I think this is significant to the overall plot.Originally posted by smokey the elder

Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our life whole
well, in my opinion I think that too much information was cramed into this book to fast. It was shorter then the fith but still, I think that she J.K.R could have explained a little bit more about all of these "deaths" and Snape being a death eater all of a sudden. I had fealing though that he was, I mean, he's allways been after Harry Potter if you know what I mean. Sneaky guy he is But I won't lie, I do love her books! I've read them all twice. The movies though I'm not to thrilled about. Especially the new ones. Because there is a new director, the movie has definetly trailed off from the book. Because I work in a movie theatre and am close to the owners, I get to see most of the premires. I know the fourth movie is comming out this november. I'm not sure I want to see it because the fourth book kinda was my favorite along with the third.
I've just finished it... OMG I'm so shocked!Everything was so fast, I suspected that Dumbledore would die, but I never thought it would be like that......
I cant wait to read the 7th... I think it will be completely different to everything we read before... Harry changed a lot, he really wants to do everything by himself... so, I think that in the end he wont die, but he will never be a normal person again, with all the things that happened.... That's my opinion about the 7th book... it wont be a happy end...

What I don't understand is if Dumblordore's picture is up, then why didn't he talk to Harry through the picture? I mean all the other headmasters and mistresses talk in their pictures.
"To all the dogs I've loved before...Who traveled in & out my door...I'm glad you came along...I dedicate this song to all the dogs I've loved before"
Maybe it takes time for it to "boot up". The pictures have to be Horcruxes.

I've been rereading all the books, and more and more I'm thinking that Snape was doing Dumbledore's bidding, and that Dumbledore isn't dead at all!
I also rewatched the three Harry Potter movies. I hated the first two, but I thought the third was soo well done.
I finished reading it the other day. It went no where fast, until the ending. I didn't like the part where Dumbledore and Harry went to the cave to fetch, what they thought would be, the real hocrux. I know it's just a book, but it seemed quite unbareable to witness. I'm with grybai, I hope Dumbledore isn't really gone.

I absolutely agree with you. The first two movies had too many special effects, and they made the story too "magical". I don't know if you understand me, but the drama and the "real life" part of the story was taken off... (I really dont know how to explain this in English, hope you understand me..Originally posted by grybai
