Do you think that IF AC is called, the Pit Rescue would be able to take them out of AC? I don't know how strict the AC is there.

The one here in Austin probably wouldn't because I think it is 5-6 hours away. If I could somehow get permission from them to go get them from AC though, I'd drive up there.

Will A/C euthanize her immediately? Or will there be a chance at all for adoption?

I will try to help you and Aly in ANY way I can (transport, medical expenses, whatever I can do), but I just don't have any contacts for anything other than small dog rescue and those are a bit strained lately (got sick of them not caring ). Most rescues here are bursting at the seams with pits and pit mixes as it is.

If you take Jolly, I'd be more than happy to help get her to Aly if she has a place for her. I'm in Dallas, BTW.

Micki, that'd work out well because I think Dallas is about the halfway point between me and Leslie. Thanks so much for offering help. With 3 of us working on this, we have to come up with something. I'm waiting to hear from the Pit rescue to see if they can take her and/or the puppies. I'm also going to PM someone from this forum who does some Pit rescuing in Houston.

Thank you Micki and Aly so much. To make any progress getting my dear little buddy Jolly any help is a weight off my chest. The owners WILL be mad that their dog is going to come up missing, but I want to get my in-laws or someone to pick her up when I take her for a walk so they never suspect me. If they ask me if I've seen her, I'll tell them she followed me on a walk and then started following some other guy, or she chased a cat into someones yard and she didn't want to come with me home.

I've intentionally created a good rapport with them because I want to take Jolly out of there, and I don't want them to suspect me in any way. I've been really careful to say hi to them, to wave to them, to smile at them when I see them. They've been very civil towards Ricky and I, but they are still bad news, regardless. If I didn't have Kersey, I'd be freaking out and probablly wouldn't get involved in any way. Kersey is SO protective, when people walk by our yard, she barks and charges the fence, she'd likely maul someone who entered my yard/house uninvited, so I am not worrying myself sick over this. I just want everything to work out as planned.

Thanks so much for your help. Jolly is truly a special little girl. She's got the best temperment, considering she lives in such a hell-hole of a house. She's always happy, except when her owners are fighting, then she gets scared. Aly feel free to call my cell up to 1AM, and as early as 8AM. Once I start work (I start on the 18th) it won't be as easy to plan any rescue efforts but maybe we can get this done before then if we're lucky.

And I believe AC will euthanize immediately. They don't adopt out pit or pit mixes. That's the impression I got when I inquired about it. If AC picks her up, the only one who can get her out is her current owners, since she's most likely pure pit, she won't be adopted out. If they can't produce her health records, they'll euthanize.

Thanks again. I hope this works, Jolly's put her paw print on my heart.

Leslie I just read this whole thread and once again am so impressed with the compassion and desire of PTers to help out in such an urgent situation. I do hope that you can all *pull this off* with safety and total anonymity. It would be wonderful if the puppies could be rescued as well, but I think at least if Jolly gets out of that horrible situation we have reason to be grateful. You haven't been in Texas very long, but already you are on a mission. Bless you Leslie, and Aly and Micki for all that you are trying to do!

    AdoreMyDogs,

Do I have permission to cross post this on another forum? I'm also a member of a Pit Bull forum that I can post this on and get it some attention there. Can you get pics?

This Pit rescue I tried is VERY full, but they are going to try to get the word out and find a foster home anyway. Pit Chick also gave me another resource that I can try.

If all else fails, I'm going to ask if I can board her at work for a bit while we get her healthy and find a foster home. She just needs to get out of that horrible situation

Leslie, I'll call you as soon as I get a lead.

I PM’ed Leslie and let her know that I have a side yard and a large doghouse, so if need be I can house Jolly overnight or for a couple of days. Hopefully Aly can find a spot with a rescue somewhere. I’m also going to call the few people that I still know, but most are 100% full.

All fingers and paws crossed Jolly can be helped! You guys are awesome!

Of course, there isn'tmuch we can physcially do from Ohio, but if you need a little money toward health care, just tell me where to send it!

The woman who owns the hell-hole of a house is moving out this weekend. The city is taking her house due to back taxes...she owes several thousand to the city, so they're taking the house. She is taking the father of Jolly's pups with her (his name is Jack) and she's taking one of her pups and she may or may not take one of her many cats. She said she's trying to find a home for Jolly (her name is actually Shianne, but her name is Jolly to me)

I told her I wanted Jolly. I showed her the excellent condition my dogs are in, told her that I'd get Jolly all the vet care she'd ever need, heartworm test and preventative, vacs and she'd be spayed. I told her how fond of Jolly I've become and that she'd have an excellent home. I told her that I take my dogs to the park daily, and I showed her how huge my back yard is, and she's seen me walking my dogs, so she knows how well taken care of they are.

I really can't take Jolly, but I want to get her out of that mess of a house. I found out that Jolly was hit by a car last week, but she wasn't hurt, thank goodness!

Aly and Micki...are you two able to snap into rescue/foster mode very soon if she ends up giving me Jolly? Let me know ASAP if possible please. I really don't want my puppers getting anything contagious and I don't have the money to take her to the vets right yet. I start work on Monday and once I start getting paychecks I'll be OK, but for now we're really struggeling with just Ricky's paychecks.

I hope this all works out! I love that little Jolly!

Oh, and I found out she's pit/boxer/shar pei mix, but she looks mostly pit to me. She's got the bouncy-ness and friendlyness of a boxer though. She's all tan. I'll have to get batteries for my dig camera today so I can snap some shots of her.

What is she going to do with the rest of the pups?
I wouldn't think your dogs could get much if they are up on their vaccinations. They should probably be fine especially since they are already near her on walks.
