Whew! Glad it's a UTI and not something more serious. Well, it can be serious but you caught it and it's treatable. Thank goodness! I'm so glad!

    Blessings,

You might try TUNA Juze - Bootsy did really *GO* for that mixed

When I started to read the thread I was fairly confident that it's an UTI because it was exactly Tigris' symptoms. Now regarding the fact that Peanut is an elderly lady I think it's amazing that she "only" has two relatively easy things This girl is still healthy

You know that with T. and F. the drinking works best when I add a little teaspoon of warm water to their food. They first lick the water and then eat

All the best for you and sweet Princess Peanut

Got a ton of stuff to do today to empty out the old motorhome, but I wanted to give a quick uppydate on Peanut. She is definitely feeling better! She wasn't really acting abnormal before, but today she is so active and looking for attention and just generally being goofy that she even went looking for CJ to pick a fight! It's after 9:00 am and she's still up and at 'em and sniffing at the open back door. CJ's already in bed but not Peanut.

So, once again the PT prayers did the trick and my little girl is feeling so much better. Thanks.

Wonderful news. Antibiotics can do wonders (as can PT prayers).

Aw Peanut! I'm glad you're feeling better. If it's any consolation Mishi is on the same drug, except he has to take 1 1/4 pills per day for the next three months! I cut the 1 into halves to it's easier for him to swallow, although he now knows what it means when I approach him with the little pill top ... my goofy boy.

I'm glad the little girl is feeling better and I hope the blood tests come back with very little else wrong with her.

Gentle hugs and smooches to Peanut and CJ.

    What great news Debbie.

Pssst, Peanut, close your ears. I don't think you're a snot.....you're a royal Princess and you demand to be treated as such!

Debbie, I'm so glad that Peanut is starting to feel better and that it was only a UTI. Hopefully her blood test will also come back normal. Please take care.

    Setback :-(

Thanks so much everybody. Here's another uppydate. The vet called yesterday and her blood work was good. The thyroid levels were on the high side of normal so he wants me to bring her back in about 3 months to monitor her weight and get another thyroid "reading." However, this is the same thing that happened last time she had a UTI and when I brought her back her levels were right back to normal - so I'm not too worried, but I will take her back.

Now the upsetting news - to me anyway - she had a minor setback today. She always comes in the bathroom with me in the morning when I take a shower. When I got out of the shower there was a little pee spot on the rug - with two bright red blood spots next to it! I got baby wipes to help keep her butt clean (which she just adores! ) and when I went to wipe her butt it looked like maybe the blood came from her butt! You know, like it would have squeezed out her butt as she strained to pee? (sorry for being gross)

I'm going to call the vet today and let him know about this and see what he says, but by now the antibiotics should really be kicking in and she shouldn't be straining as much anymore. Twice I saw her squat this morning already with no results.

The only time T and/or P had a UTI in the past, the antibiotics kicked in right away and there was none of this blood stuff, so do any of you have any idea if it's normal to have a little setback like this? She is getting diarrhea from the antibiotic which I know is fairly normal... Oh, and she is still acting completely normal and eating and drinking like normal. Didn't skip a beat when it was time to beg for morning treats. Whew!

    Any ideas?

I believe that it is normal with a UTI that there could be some blood in the urine especially in the early stages of medication. When I was told that Gidget had a UTI (which she didn't as it turned out), but they told me not to be surprised if I saw blood in her urine.

It can take a day until the antibiotics kick in but you should monitor her closely- it could be crystals, sands etc.

Hey Peanut, tell your mewomie what's wrong with you. It would be so good if they could tell us
