She was trying to move him for a photo. That's why he was on the couch.

I did the right thing by setting you free
But the pain is very deep.
If only I could turn back time, forever, you I'd keep.
    I miss you

I hear you whimper in your sleep
I gently pet you and say, no bad dreams
It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Fur as dark as the night.
    Join me on this flight.
Paws of love that follow me.
In my heart you'll forever be.

How I wish I could hold you near.
Turn back time to make it so.
Hug you close and never let go.

I believe you have some good starting points to work with. In addition to the behavior changes you need to make, don't forget to get Duke to the vets for a checkup. Best Wishes!

I just started Duke on that medicine that Glacier was talking about. Doubling up on Rimadyl wasn't helping at all. Today was only his second day and the vet said I probably wouldn't see anything noticable for about a month but I think it's working better already. When I got home today, Duke wanted me to play. So, hopefully by three weeks, he'll be in a much better frame of mind for the PT get together. That and the other things we've discussed should help immensely.

Josie has fear aggression. I don't know if that is the proper word, but it's what I call it. She will fight with other dogs, and will bark and howl at people. She's never snapped at anyone though, but most people won't go near her when she's howling I hope Duke gets better soon...whatever may be causing it.

    Val,

I don't have any advice to offer (DD gave you really good advice!!!), but I offer you a {{{hug}}} instead.

    Hope it works out.

Valerie was over last night and I'm very proud of her and Duke both.

We had both Kiara and Nala out at once - Duke did snap at Kiara once and growl at Nala, but overall he did wonderfully. Each time he gave someone "the look" he was corrected, and that's great!

Good Job Duke dog and Valerie!
