Well, our (Drake and I's) day starts at around 5:30 AM. He is my alarm clock. We get ready and go outside to potty and then we go on our daily run. This is a very important part of my day and his. If I don't wear off some of his energy before I go to work, I come home to a destroyed house! When we come back we drink lots of water and I take a shower while Drake guards the bathroom. Drake doesn't like eating in the morning; neither do I. So, I get dressed and go to work and Drake stays home, plays with his toys, naps, and watches Animal Planet!

Souraya - your day sounds a little bit like mine, except Tess isn't a dog you take for a run, a walk to the mailbox and back is a marathon for her little legs. You people that have 8 and 9 a.m. waker uppers are really lucky. Tess has the 2 or 3 in the a.m. wake up call, although she's getting better. The last 2 mornings she didn't wake up until my alarm went off which is 4 a.m. I'm at work around 5, which is good since I get off at 2 p.m. Go home and take Tess for her marathon walk to the mail box

Ha, there certainly are a few late sleepers on this board, but then you all probably aren't in bed at 9 pm like we are either. I have two dogs each with a different outlook on when to get up. Tucker like me is an early riser. Hannah is the last one up. I used to make them both go out at the same time which meant waking Hannah and forcing her to go out. It was always a hassle. Hannah likes to control certain things about her life and when I finally allowed her to sleep in and get up when she wanted, it really helped our morning start out a bit better. After both have had their potty outing, they get their breakfast krunchies with a little warm water on them. Generally they go out again between 8 and 9 am. I pretty much let them decide, asking them if they want to go out. If they do, they will go to the door, if they don't they stay away from the door. From then on I just leave them be unless one or the other comes in to the office to ask me to let them out. They really are not ones for going out much during the day.

the man in the apartment upstairs gets up at 5 am....guess who wakes up? alex stretches, shakes, jingles his collar, scratches an itchy spot, then starts on convincing me it's time to get up. he'll jump on the bed and start licking my hand, sometimes it works, sometimes not. if he "woofs" the i have to go out woof, i'm up. out on the tie out, business done and he races back in thinking it's time for pills and breakfast.(we will be moving to our own house soon, i wonder if this will change?)it's not, not till 6:30, but he's always hopeful. i set the timer on the stove and lie down on the couch and do get up at 6:30. on days off, if i go back to bed, he "lets" me sleep till 8, 8:30 then proceeds to make his opinion known...time to play...come on play with me...i am NOT a morning person, how did i find a morning dog?
