Trev, I had to smile when I saw the content and time of your first post to the content and time of your second post in this thread. Once the decision was made, things went into fast forward.

Possum is adorable. Has anyone broke the news to the other fur kids?

Congratu lations! She is gorgeous! I'm so excited for you! How wonderful, another pup rescued! YEAH!

P.S., I left that space in Congratulations because that was Duncan's addition. He just walked up to the computer and stuck his head on the keyboard and I think he hit the spacebar! I guess he wanted to add his two cents too!!

That's awesome Trev, I'm glad you guys made the decision and Possom sure is cute. I do hope you get her but if it doesn't work out, there are plenty of other dogs in need worthy or your home!

What a cute puppy!!! I didn't think I wanted a small dog but now that I have Pippi, I love it. She sits on my lap and just loves to be loved and is small enough I can carry her!

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Things did seem to move pretty fast from when I said OK. Carole was thinking about a mini schnauzer, but then I suggested that with having two standards already, we should look at adopting a rescue puppy. It was then that I started showing her the various sites with pups listed, and when she saw Possum, I guess it was love at first sight. Now as far as the breed goes, her bio just says X-breed, so I imagine she is a real bitsa. (bits of this, bits of that ). It's my guess that the carer isn't too sure. There are so many pups needing homes out there, it makes me glad we can give at least one a loving home. I just hope it works out as we are quite excited now. (trying not to count chickens) I've told Oggy & Flute that we are extending the pack, and I think they seem cool with it.

Oh and Paula we are definately keeping the name Possum, she's my Possum girl.

So...how was it that Carole talked you into another pup? I'm absolutely stuck on the idea of acquiring a second rescue dog, but my otherwise fantastic, perfect hubby is happy with just our Bijou (period. end of sentence. no negotiations!).

Our area has so many wonderful available dogs...it's very difficult to pass them by! Fill me in on just how it is you were convinced, if it's not too personal an inquiry!

    Thanks!

Well, I can't tell you Trev's story, but I can tell you mine! My ex and I had had Buddy for about a month (he was about 4 months old at the time) and we were out running some errands on a Saturday afternoon. I knew of a friends's cousin who was trying to find homes for some Shephard/Rottie pups that were an accidental litter so I suggested we stop by. She was against it from the get-go, and didn't even want to go, she did NOT want a second dog. Anyway, I was driving (in charge) so I went there and fell in love with this one pup right away, and I think she felt the same way. She kissed me gently on the cheek a couple of times and then snuggled her nose into my neck. When I finally put her down, she cried and kept getting me to pick her back up. Anyway, we left (at my girlfriend's command), and drove around arguing for quite some time (I wouldn't go home!!LOL), then she made her final slip up: She said: "If we went back there you wouldn't even know which one it was" so I zoomed right back there and did a four-wheel skid into the driveway, went back in and (the then un-named) Tasha ran right up to me and cried and "begged" for me to pick her up (which of course I did). Done deal......took her home that day! Been Daddy's-girl ever since!

How absolutely wonderful! I sure do hope things work out because Amy is right when she says:
all the cool kids have their dogs in 3's

Sounds like Possum would be the perfect additon to your family!

I was more than likely half way convinced by looking at all the sweet puppy pics on here. But what sealed it was when I showed Carole the puppy pics, and she just turned to me with these sad eyes and said she wanted another pup to cuddle and sit in her lap. I'm just a real sucker when she does that.

So I guess it's a matter of timing. I got caught in a weak moment.
