Dear Rachel...I can't begin to tell you how terribly sorry I am to hear of the loss of beautiful Bandit. My heart breaks for you. But I know that Bandit will live on forever in that special place in your heart. For sure he is at the Rainbow Bridge and is looking down on you with love. And I know my Jingles, and all of our beloved departed furkids, are there with him, lending him a guiding paw until you are together again. Know that you and precious Bandit are in my heart and prayers. Love, Sandra

Oh I am so sorry This is indeed a terrible accident. It is not easy keeping a car chaser from chasing cars, especially dogs with such a strong herding instinct. Poor Bandit, poor lil guy. I hope your family is OK. I know how much you loved Bandit. You spoke of him so highly and lovingly. It's so hard to lose a friend, especially one that is young.

Take care, and try to keep your chin up. Bandit is in a place where he can run and chase and herd all day and night without getting hurt.

    Rachel,

I'm so sorry to hear about Bandit. He was a beautiful boy. I know what you are going through ... one of the reason I have cats now, is that as a child I lost two Shelties in this way. It is heartbreaking, but you are right to sense that Bandit is now playing fetch with the Angels. After all, all dogs (and cats) go to heaven ...

Thank you all SO VERY much. I had forgotten how well us Pet Talkers take care of each other. I have not been able to stop crying and every time I come back to this message board I cry even more, but not exactly in sadness, but to know that all of you care so much. I love you all and all of your wonderful families and animals. Thank you. Just remember, if you have feel sad, whether its about animals or not, always come to Pet Talk and I'm sure every one will make you feel better, like you did me.

The last picture I took of him...

Rachel, that is so sad, Bandit was so beautiful, I'm sure he is playing with all of our PetoftheDay dogs at the Rainbow bridge, I know Kona for one will be looking for him. Just take one day at a time and remember the good times you had with him.

Hi Rachel. Your pictures of Bandit are so beautiful. He was a very handsome boy. This is a poem that I wrote for another member who lost a dog. I thought it could help you to explain why your sweet Bandit had to go away.

    God had a little angel
    With a little wagging tail.
He saw someone on earth in need
And knew His angel would not fail,
So He sent the angel down to earth
In the form of a puppy, cute and small,
The puppy made his master's problems disappear
And solved them once and for all.
Their days were filled with laughter
    And many a slobbery kiss.
God watched the two quite happily,
But His angel he did miss.
And then one day in Heaven
There came a kind but lonely soul,
One in need of an angel's company for a while,
And so to make him once more whole,
God had no choice but to take back His angel,
For he was needed in Heaven once more.
Though the angel and master had had quite a bond,
He had to go do his job for the God he adores.
Though the master weeps and grieves now,
    They should truly know,
Their furry friend is an angel in Heaven,
And when they themselves there go,
    They will be reunited,
For the angel's job will be done,
And the two will be left alone
For more love, kisses, and fun.

I hope your pain is slowly lessening. I know it's hard, but we are all here for you.

    Love,
    Bridget
