41% Yankee. I too am suprised it isn't higher since I've lived my whole life in the Northeast and have only been south of the Mason-Dixon line 3 or 4 times.

63% Dixie, a definative Southern score. I'm from the mid-Atlantic but south of the Mason-Dixon line so I guess that's appropriate. I certainly enjoy southern cooking better than northern fare, that's for dern sure

This is probably true for me - but aren't there alot of Dixie's here that are not Dixie's??

52% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

I've lived in Michigan all my life! *laughs* Must be all the vacations taken down south.

It's very biased toward certain things. I'm frankly about 100% Yankee, born, raised, lived my whole life in Massachusetts, ancestors on the Mayflower, ancestors in every conflict from the American Revolution forward.

Here are the test "text" answers:
Clearly Massachusetts, SE Maine, or Rhode Island
Most common around the Great Lakes and into the northeast U.S.
Common throughout the entire United States
    Southeastern United States
Centered on Chicago and the Great Lakes region south to Tennessee
    Common nearly everywhere
Common nearly everywhere ("you guys" favors northern) - I'd just use You, but that was not an option, neither was "you guys" which I would have chosen second
All of U.S.; slightly favors the southeast
    Common throughout entire U.S.
This is a universal generic term used nationwide
Very strongly biased toward the Northeast United States
New England and western Great Lakes
Used nationwide, especially in urban areas (Actually, I'd call it an on-ramp)
Used nationwide and in southern urban areas
Heavy bias in southern Wisconsin and Massachusetts
Used heavily in northeast US and California
Used heavily in Great Lakes and Midwest region
This is common throughout most of the U.S.
Dont worry, this is a common response.
    Great Lakes and Intermountain West
And yet it told me I was 49% - "just barely Yankee!"

  11. 44%.... a Yankee....(I should hope so!)

I'm wondering if perhaps the fact that some PT'ers travel quite a bit (Karen, Sara etc) their answers could reflect that, and perhaps are not as "Yankee" (in their case) as someone who rarely leaves their hometown? Just a thought - and it is all in fun anyway. I love regional dialects and hope they never get truly "homogenized"

58% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

I have never stepped foot in the south, so why am I even barely into the Dixie category?

I don't really talk like a southern hillbilly though, y'all.
