    LOL!

I have a Canon Power shot A300. It has an awesome Macro mode!!! That's why I love it so much. It was only $179 dollars when I bought it too, so it's probably a lot cheaper now.

OK, Cass, maybe you need to come to SC and help me learn to make better use of my camera! I have a Canon Powershot A310, which came a bit after the 300 (I had one of those before too) and I have no idea what to do to make better close up shots like you did! I just wish you'd take more shots of other things, close up........don't do well with the roaches, but I do enjoy the sticks and other insects.

Ohh! I got to hold a hissing cockroach once! They are so cool. Your cave roach is beautiful.

And the walking stick! Do they sting like scorpions?

I was thinking of the standard walking sticks that I find here in MI.

Cass, you always have the coolest pets. I can just see me asking my parents for one of these . I KNOW I'm an animal lover when I can find beauty in ANY pet . They have a cuteness about them.

Anyone remember Triops? They were like sea monkeys because you could buy the eggs and they hatch in water. They looked A LOT like these hissing cockroaches (from what I remember ), but only from the top view.

Those pets are sweet! I don't find them creepy at all, I think they're cool. And I've never heard of having a walking stick as a pet. The pictures are great!

LOL, but those are very different than the roaches kept as pets. Do you know only 1% of all roach species infest homes and spread disease? Most roaches prefer to live in the deep forest under logs and leaves, not in homes.

They're quite harmless vegetarians, no use for a stinger. Although they can bite you if they feel like it, I've never been bitten.

    Thank you Wolf_Q!

Thanks! I'm glad you find them fascinating creatures! I'm on my way to go pick some Bramble for my walking stick to eat. If I get batteries today (since I lost my battery charger) I am taking more photos, and perhaps if you all are lucky I'll post some of the rats as well.
