When I got Bud, he was on meal schedules twice a day. When I brought Tasha into the house (3 months later) she had food down all the time so I continued with that, for the first few days of it, Bud thought all his Christmas's had come at once and would scarf down every last bit of food. My vet told me not to worry and to keep filling the bowl. While this went on Bud would throw up constantly because he wasn't eating for want or need, just 'cause he could!! It passed after a few days. I don't know if that is the same situation for you, but Labs do tend to eat as much as possible, and then some. Buddy has made himself sick many times getting into the garbage, or on the counter, or any number of places to "please his tummy", make sure that is not the case for you: Secure everything!! Even the things you don't think he ever has a chance at getting ('cause he does!). I don't mean to sound condescending or like an expert, but please toss the 'Ole Roy, and anything thrown in the same isle; there are some great foods out there for very little more money and you will find that with the higher quality foods, your dog will eat less so the cost will all work out in the end.

I hate to come down on you, but Kibbles and Bits is also a very poor quality of food. I know tons of people do think its a great food because of the price and deceptive advertising.. but check out the ingredients on the label! Kibbles and Bits, and basically most of the kibble from grocery stores, are full of carbs and nutritionally void ingredients, as well as FOOD COLORING which causes allergies in a lot of dogs. Definitely try a higher quality brand, if you can possibly switch to Nutro Natural Choice your dog will love you for that! And Nutro is at almost any pet store. Purina ONE is probably the best you can get at the grocery store, and he might do better on that also.. Always look for food with a meat protein as the #1 ingredient (Chicken, Lamb, etc), no corn, no by-products, and NO food coloring or large amounts of preservatives. These are all very bad for dogs.
great thanks!
