    He is just darling, Debbie.

I have to tell you that watching Peanut, watch him, is so much like what Mimi did (and still does) with Butter. She simply doesn't want to be bothered with him, but at the same time, she does watch him like a hawk!!! Those old ladies are too funny!!!!

His meow is just adorable. Is that Peanut growling in the background or am I hearing things? He stares and then keeps meowing...ahhh. What a good boy!

    Awww what a darling.

    Dear Peanut,

Give Mr. CJ a chance. He looks like fun. I have been begging Meowmie for a sibling so I can have someone to play with while her and Daddy are at work. It is no fun being an only kitty.

Debbie, I've just now had a chance to view that video...my home computer is so slow. What a talkative little guy he is. He's just saying HI to all the Pet Talkers out there.

Did I mention yet how cute his tail is?? I just love that little curly-cue at the end.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I do too, and he's always flipping that tip. Not the whole tail, just the tip.

Thanks everybody. Things are going as smooth as can be expected this morning. I almost let them both roam freely last night while we slept.....until I found CJ awake and alert at peering out the back window, and Peanut sitting at the edge of the kitchen peering in at him....and hissing! There were two bunnies at the bird feeder which he was watching intently. The whole scenerio reminded me too much of a few years back when we had a stray cat coming around and terrorizing T & P to the point where they attacked each other - in the middle of the night! I wanted nothing to do with that scenerio again, so I brought Jack in the bedroom with me and closed the door again.

This morning Terry and I discussed things and we decided we were doing things all wrong. Whenever Peanut would hiss at CJ, we'd start petting her and cooing to her, trying to calm her down - we were rewarding her bad behavior! So this morning he was handing out treats. Peanut started hissing so CJ got a treat and Peanut didn't. Terry started ignoring her and was talking to CJ and petting him and paying attention to him. Next thing you know, Peanut is in her little bed Cracker Jack walks by and by golly, no hissing! So maybe things will be all worked out by the time I get home tonight!

Oh, and as for the stand off in the doorway in the kitchen, Crackers usually doesn't even know Peanut is there until she hisses (she's quite sneaky), so she was hissing at him (yes, that's her in the background) and he just wanted to go up to her and make friends, but the hissing kept him at bay. I thought it was hilarious though that he rubbed the cabinet a few times, then said the heck with this, I'm going back to begging! He has even started turning his back on her when she hisses at him - how insulting! But I think it sends the right signal. I want nothing to do with your hissy fits so just get over it already!

Now I've got other problems though.....but will start a new thread on that.

His meow is so cute! And I love that curly cue tail too.

I hope Peanut accepts him soon.

CJ has really made himself at home. I'm so glad he's so relaxed. Now to just get Miss Peanut to relax a little. Glad to hear your new way of petting him and ignoring her when she hisses works. I've been trying that for months and months with Scout and Ripley but it doesn't work.

Scout just absolutely hates Ripley. I thought for the longest that maybe she just hates males and I was very worried about bringing Rocky in with her but she tolerates Rocky fairly well (as much as she tolerates any female cat - which isn't the greatest, but...) She just torment Ripley, bosses him around smacks at him constantly. She can be asleep in a chair and will hear or smell him walk by and gets up just to swat at him below. Everytime he goes to hop up in the window where the food is she will run over to smack his rear as he jumps. She even dictates when he can eat and drink sometimes. It's so frustrating and probably why he sprays sometimes. Poor fellow.

I just love stories like this! **hugs** Cracker Jack certainly looks like he has made himself at home and very comfortable! I just love his meow! So sweet! Even thought Peanut is still a little wary of him, things still seem to be moving along well. I'm sure in no time at all they will be co-habitating just fine!
    Much love,
