Poor Nilla! But I'm glad that she is recovering well. And that tatoo idea is wonderful! I'm sure that would prevent many of these incidents if it was done more often.

My Bailey went through the same thing. I felt horrible for a long time after that. The vet at the clinic got mad at me because I should've known she had already been spayed. Two vets had previously looked at her and said she hadn't.

Oh, that is so sad! I just had Pippi spayed and I would hate for her to have ever be cut open again whether they took anything out or not! What a cutie Nilla is! And she sure looks happy to be with you and your family! Lucky girl!
