The best President this country ever had was Abraham Lincoln.
He was a Republican. He would surely roll over in his grave to see
the depths to which that grand old party has fallen in choosing
the likes of a semi literate, "good ole boy" as a candidate for
    any public office.

Of the ten people listed, Truman & Eisenhower were very good
Presidents. Nixon , Ford and George W. Bush, the worst.

    Liz,
Lincoln's Republicans evolved into the current Demcratic Party, not much of what he did resembled the current Republicans. He was much closer to Democratic. He was, however, not as angelic as most people believe. He actually was not anti-slavery. He just wanted to win the war and figured the Emancipation Proclamation would motivate the anti-slavery people in the North to continue to fight. I liked Lincoln too though....
Oh yeah, he didn't even consider the Constitution when he instituted martial law in Maryland either....

    Molly,

Lincoln was NOT pro-slavery and actually he was a member of
the Whig party that later evolved into the Republican party as
it's know today. Anybody wanting to know more about this
    ledgendary President, check it out;

I don't want to argue, but, since I teach this stuff at least once or twice a year, Lincoln was a Republican and was not a Whig. And the Republican Party that he belonged to eventually became the Democrats.

Here's the link to POTUS (Presidents Of The United States)....actually you can read about all the presidents on that site....it's really good info....

I'm sorry Liz, I can't get to that link. It seems like every time I open something that opens in another window, my internet shuts itself down. Mike is working on it, but, he doesn't have a lot of time to do it. I tried it 3 times and it shut me down everytime.

Well, to be fair, it will open up for about 15 seconds, just long enough for me to start reading something and then I get a fatal error message from Explorer and BOOM! it shuts down everything. It's extremely annoying. It does it wherever I am...Pet Talk or any other forum or website. Like I said, Mike is working on it. He thought he had it figured out and then it started up again.

    Molly,

I hope Mike finds out what's wrong.I had a similar problem
recently until I finally got rid of all the "adware" on my pc. I had
almost 50 files just sucking the life out of my connections.

    Good luck, Liz.

I have adaware on my pc and run it daily to get rid of the spy ware. We run Trend Micro virus protection....which is what Mike ran when he ran the multi national network and never had a problem. I am going to download spybot as well and see what I can find.

Well.... for best president I would have to vote for Washington, Lincoln and FDR.....even though they aren't in the last ten.

I think Harding would have to lead the list of worst presidents. I think Reagan will be judged harshly by history as well.

Of those listed...I would have to say Truman. He demonstrated political courage with some of the difficult decisions he made and he grew into the job.

Presidents I most admire would have to be Jefferson....for the constitution and the declaration of independence.
