I'm not into excuses. The truth is always best. The truth isn't a bad, hurtful thing.

I'm sorry, we can't attend. Please give us more notice next time.

    What's wrong with that?

After years of RSVPing my in-laws for stupid parties, cook outs,etc... I learned to say 'Sorry we can't make it we have other plans, thanks for inviting us.' And my other plans may be to curl up and spend the evening with my furkids but it's still plans and not a lie!

I hate short notices. If we get a notice we have to be somewhere a day or two in advance we always tell them no, and that they didn't give us enough time to make plans. We use to drop every thing and go but now we refuse. We get told alot sooner now. Just call them and tell them that they gave you short notice so you are going to give them short notice that you and your family will not be attending.

Ok, I didn;t go... thank God! And she never asked why. I had told her Friday night that I didn't know what I was going to be doing, but that I'd come if I could make it. Well, I wasn't about to go alone!

And yes, she does just squat and pee. She is 100% naked more than not. They simply cannot keep clothes on the kid, nor do they really try. They don;t want to "ruin her sense of self and inhibition" yeah, right. Its easier to let her do what she wants than it is to keep shoving clothes back on her!

I remember once when I was baby-sitting this little 2 year old girl, well I left her in the living room watching a movie because I was on my you know and when I came back into living room she had pooped and smeared it all over the couch! Ok one thing I learned is never go to the bathroom while your baby-sitting and two little kids are evil! She was laughing and came up to me and smeared it on my leg! OMG I was so close to throwing up, but I put that aside picked her up :s and gave her a bath. well, when the parents got back I told them what happened, the mom said"oh she does that a lot" like it was just that casual! I mean I know I shouldn't have gone to the bathroom but I really couldn't have helped it..... anyways needless to stay I haven't baby-sat for them

WOW! They need a big lesson on parenting. so when their daughter becomes 14-15 and she starts ripping her clothes off infront of people they're not going to stop her?

Glad you didn't have to go!!!
