Wouldn't the holes be too big for a cockatiel? The spacing is quite wide on my cubes, a cockatiel could easily stick its head through.

I'm not sure if a cage like that would be ok for a bird. The openings in the grids might be to big, Charlie could get her head stuck or foot, etc. A commercial bird cage might be better.

I could never get our pigs to get up to the second story. I guess they're just lazy.

I wouldn't think a cage like this would be suitable for a bird. The holes are a little too big.

wow! thelmer, your cage is very impressive! I was considering buying my buns a cage from leith petwerks, but they are so expensive when I could just make something like that & have it totally customized! Ive seen instructions for the neat ideas cubes cages before, though it always seemed so confusing. was it pretty easy to figure out? btw, how wide is thelmers cage? like 4 ft? its be great if you had some close ups. right now my buns are just in an ex-pen on the floor, but they take up a lot of space & make a lot of mess, and I want to get them up off the ground, so if I build something like that Id need to get a table or dresser or something wide enough to put it on.

Veegan- My bunnies have aa cage made out of the same thing. I used Zip Ties to put my together and it was VERY easy to do!

My dad built a bottom for it from wood and then we went to Lowes and bought Lanolium (SP) for the bottom of it! My buns LOOOOVE there cages!

I wouldn't think a cage like that would be safe for a tiel. The holes are too big. He could easily get stuck/caught and get injured. I wouldn't take the risk.
