I would love to live there, it's beautiful. I like Lucy.

The Blue tailed skinks (if they are the same as we have in Florida) are poisonous. They effect the nervous system of animals who catch them. That's what happened to my cat Roxy.

KBlaix - I didn't know they were poisonous!! Good thing she keeps them in an aquarium. I'll have to ask her about that.

Oh yeah, and I said it wrong. The breed of horse she breeds is the Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse. If anyone is ever interested in one, PM me. Aren't the foals beautiful? And can you believe the size of that black lab?

I tell you all what, I was in heaven all weekend. I grew up going to that place as a little kid, riding ponies while my little brother hopped on the back of their Great Dane. The house they have there was built in the 1840s. It's a log cabin. It needs a big overhaul in terms of floors and ceilings, but it's really neat.

Yeah well you notice, he's got a lead rope on...my cousin is just out of the picture holding it! He's really a sweet horse though, I wasn't afraid he would throw me or anything, just afraid I would fall off b/c I hadn't ridden bareback in so long! If I did fall though, good thing he's only like 15 hands!

    Great photos!
It is such a beautiful farm with so many wonderful animals.
I'm jealous, I spent Monday at my friend's farm but she only had 3 horses, 2 dogs, a few cats and a rabbit.
Just a smaller piece of heaven compared to your cousin's farm.
    RIP sweet Samantha

Awesome, I'm originally from Morehead! All of my family is there, I just moved away from there last August.

Love the pics! Rowan County is so beautiful . . . I guess it's just a KY thing!

Those horses are beautiful!!! My uncle raises/trains TN Walking Horses in Morehead . . . They're HUGE but I love watching them!!!

Christa - Cool! My cousin lives way out in the county, you might know where it is. I'll PM you just for the heck of it to see if you know where she is.

Samantha Puppy - I thought Maine Coon too! Check out the hair in his ears!!

I am so jealous! You are very lucky to have a cousin that loves animals like that. I've never heard of a Kentucky Mountain horse before. Are they gaited horses? Love all the pics. Thanks for sharing.

But the pain is very deep.

It will be alright, to my dog as dark as night.

Yes they're gaited. They call them "soft-gaited," which I guess means they have three gaits: a trail walk, the canter and a saddle gait. They're very nice to ride. You can read more about them here. I think they look a lot like the Rocky Mountain Horse.

    Here's that picture of Beauty:

Here's a Rocky Mountain Horse for comparison:

    Vio&Juni - I just loved Itsy Bitsy's green eyes. She's so cute!

Wow! The horse featured on the main page of the site is gorgeous! Eli's Chocolate Diva. Going to have to do a search on her. Even the name is great. If I could afford more than one horse, I would love to have one. Are they very expensive?
