Sorry to burst your bubble, but anoles ARE great for first time reptile owners, because they are cheap and easy to keep. You can set up their tank in about ten minutes, they eat readily available insects, and don't require any difficult, complicated care. So, yes, they are great for a first time owner.

As far as them being "tamed", well, that depends on what you call tame. They can become used to you, if you relax and give the poor thing some time to adjust. But, no, a small lizard is never going to be "tame" in the sense that a dog or a bunny is tame. If you slow down and give the little guy a break, perhaps he will get used to you so that he isn't so terrified. But they are not a pet that is EVER going to come to you to be petted or ride around on your shoulder. They are just not like that. You should have done some more research on them before getting one, IMO.

He has a UV/b light shinning down on him.
A UV light is great, reptiles need a light that simulates natural sunlight. But, make sure the light is also producing HEAT - some don't. He also needs a hot place under a light to get warm, or else he won't be able to digest the food he eats.

    Well that wasnt very nice.

Im sure shes not getting rid of him right this second. She is probably still giving him a chance to warm up to her.

And IF she does decide that she is going to give him away... she is only doing it for the best. Obviously she would have to feel that Zorro is not going to be in the best hands with her and that he would be better off with someone else.

I am not saying that he is NOT in good hands... I was just stating that she would probably feel that way IF she decides to give him away.

He isnt healthy. he is always brown in color, meaning a sign of stress, and he hates people. probably because he was torn out of the wild.

He hasnt aten once in the week that I have had him, and he is suppost to be eating three small crickets a day pluse the odd mealworm.
The pet store sold me an unhealthy pet, so I am bringing it back, enough said.

Are you sure it's not a BROWN Anole????

Maybe the tag on the cage was wrong and he was a Brown Anole, who I beleave can be green sometimes.

AND, maybe he sees his refelction in the glass and it scares him, give him some time to get used to it, maybe put up some paper. (read this while I was doing research about Green Anole)

If he is stressed it's no wonder he hasn't eaten.

I know nothing about green anoles, so I can't help you there. I hope you work that situation out...but about the meal worms...when we had bearded dragons, we started buying the meal worms and crickets from Cabella's. It's a outdoor fishing company. They sell them as fish bait and they are way cheaper. They'll ship them right to your door.
