    You do know how to tell male from female right? The males will have a very obvious indentation on the bottom of their shell to make room for the females shell during mating. At such a young age they will just barely begin to indent if they are male, so it may take a bit longer to know who is male, and who is female.

    2 Virginia Opossums, 6 cats, 4 bearded dragons, 1 iguana, 1 red foot tortoise, 1 tripod chihuahua, 5 mice, dubia and hissing cockroaches as well as other misc animals that wander in and out of my home.

    Oh, great pictures....I haven't seen any of tortoises yet!
    What is their normal lifespan? My favorite is the group shot...I love that 1 but, they're all cute!

    Their average lifespan is around 80-100 years. They'll probably outlive us! They make wonderful pets.

    Cass, yep, we do. My mother checked the other day, and she's almost positive all of them are female.

    Great pictures! I haven't seen desert tortoises in years. My great grandmother used to have them in her backyard when I was a little girl.
