What DO meat rabbits look like???

yes you did lol a friend of hers raises rabbits for meat, but is moving? I think? so ash is trying to rescue as many as she can before they go to slaughter

Thanx Slick, sometimes I feel like giving up though. Then I get an email from a shelter or see a bunny pic, or give my bunnies a kiss and I rember why I am doing what I'm doing.

5 Homes to date, and another shelter is calling me sometime this weekend to set up a time to collect there bunnies. Now all I have to do is raise 200 dollars, LOL. I hope the shelters can "buy" there rabbits, other whys it's all up to me! Ahh. ::hides::

Oh my, this is heartbreaking. They look like cute little pets. I can't believe people still eat rabbits. Even around here in East TN I don't know anyone who eats rabbits or at least they don't talk about it.

Ash, I think your 'one girl rescue' is amazing. I always look for your posts to see who or what you are saving next. Hats off to ya'!!!

Best of luck with the bunnies. I'll say a prayer for them.

I remember one time when my RB rabbit, Tulip, was still with me some relatives were over. I was relaxing on our balcony with Tulip in my lap when my aunt came over to me and said, "You know, rabbits taste quite good" I just looked at her with a look of disgust on my face She replied in an aggravated voice (like I offended her or something ) "Don't worry, I'm not going to eat your rabbit!" I still get angry till this day when I think back to that moment. She didn't even see anything wrong with that comment

oh poor bunnies!! i wish i could take one, but i think Cadbury is too set in his ways to accept another bunny in the house. good luck finding them a home, you're doign a really good thing, most people wouldn't do.

that's sick! i've seen a sign for meat rabbits before,but i thought,like a lot of people, that they were the big,white ones. i wish i could take one,i love rabbits AS PETS!

I wish there was a way we could help you out. You know, to me, it doesn't matter whether they're big white rabbits with pink eyes, or little black and white ones... I don't think I could ever eat a rabbit. If I could, I'd be a vegetarian, but my body can't handle it. I've tried. Got really sick. Plus, I think that humans were born omnivores. We've been eating meat since the beginning. I see nothing wrong with eating meat, but you can still provide good conditions for those animals used as food. Just because an animal is being raised for food doesn't mean you should treat it badly. There's no reason for overcrowding, or poor living conditions. It's just sad.

You're wonderful for doing what you can! I know we all wish we could do more, but every little bit helps.
