    Dear Anna,

I am SO pleased that your Angus is home, and feeling better!

The one medicine he is on, Carafate, I had never heard of, so I searched for info on Google. You might want to take a look at this webpage - it sounds just like what has happened to Angus: http://www.bowwowbakery.com/Ulcersindogs.htm

It seems from the link above, and from the other webpages that came up, that it is vitally important to watch for dehydration. Some people's dogs almost died from dehydration before they could be cured of what was really wrong. Sounds like your vet is handling it well.

In an on-line (people) medical dictionary reference to Carafate, it is described as a treatment for ulcers, and that it works best when taken on an empty stomach. (Of course, that advice was intended for humans. Just thought I'd mention it.)

I loved to see the pictures of Angus with his toys. If he has to spend another day at the vet's to get more fluids, maybe you could leave his football there with him!?

Kisses to you sweet Angus and more hugs coming to you Anna.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

    Re: Our Big Boy's Home!!!!!

It is so good to see him enjoying himself! The pictures are great! It sounds like he has a wonderful vet and of course a wonderful family. I will keep praying for you, Angus! That you feel well enough to play already is a wonderful sign! I'm praying you'll be playing hard with the girls for a long time to come!
