Tuxluvr, you are so right about Manx being able to jump quite high! One leap and Miss Bo is on the kitchen counter. Two big leaps and she is in her penthouse, six feet above floor level (and she's thirteen years old!). Manx hind legs are larger than their front legs, which is why they can jump to great heights. I fell in love with Manx cats because of their looks (love those sweet round little faces) and dispositions. Bo is the perfect companion, follows me around the house like a dog, loves to be petted and played with, is never a brat or rude.

Well, this just proves Big is only part Manx! He's got those long hind legs that give him that see-saw run like a rabbit, and he's got a sorta short tail with a gnarly end, but the boy can't jump! I suspect his ample girth may be a factor!

My manx cat (now at RB) was just a sweetie - and I loved the look like they were running down hill all the time - like a souped up sports car

Her momma could jump from the floor to the top of the door frame molding - I had to see it to believe it...little bunnycat!

Leah, Big's weight is probably the reason he isn't a jumper in spite of his adequate hindquarters. My Abby (rainbow bridge) was obese, and she wasn't a jumper either although she was a Manx. The only thing that would make her try to jump on anything would be FOOD. I once saw her try to jump on the bed and fall off, dragging the covers with her!
Tuxluvr, I never thought that Manx looked like souped up sportscars until you mentioned it, and I think you're right!!LOL!! Manx have the nicest personalities, very sweet and companionable.

My Campino is a domestic shorthair orange tabby. Orangies are my favourite. He is such a handsome little devil. His eyes are the exact same colour of his fur. I will have to get a picture to post. Although I'm sure all parents think that their kitties are the most beautiful and handsome they've ever seen

Bobbie, I had an orange boy who also had those copper eyes that looked the same color of his fur. They were so beautiful, like pennies! I have since read that copper is the rarest eye color for cats and is prized by breeders, most cat's eyes are simply yellow. He's at the RB now, so I'll have to look through old photies to see if any do justice to his eyes and have it scanned. I would love to see photies of your copper-eyed boy!
