I really find fault with people who go out in public with their 'food foibles' and expect that the world fall in line.......

    At the next table..

    I want the steak dinner......
What kind of steak is it? Can you tell me if it's from Kansas? Are their any hormones in it? I'd like to have it medium rare, with the fat trimmed off it.........do you marinate the meat and can you tell how long it's been in the marinate? And how many ounces is it......My diet says I can only have 8 ounces in 24 hours!

Let's see, I would like the fries but can you tell me what kind of oil you fry them in? Vegetable?? Oh no-I can only eat corn oil fried products...I want the potato instead-is it cooked in foil? And what toppings do you have? No, No chives.....I want low fat sour cream.......is it the kind with the 10 percent fat in it??

Ohhhhh, the salad........What kind of lettuce is in it? Haha, is it organic lettuce, I need organic lettuce..are there tomatoes in it??? I can only eat cherry tomatoes. Carrots, can I have the carrots on the side?

Dressing.......Thousand Island, Ranch, Italian and...Do you have low fat ranch? I love low fat ranch...no low fat ranch?? Do you have low fat Italian? I'd like to have 3.5 ounces of the low fat Italian.......I can only have that...Dr Adkins said so.

And I'll have the tea, what kind is it? Is it brewed or instant? Instant tastes bad to me...I'd also like to have three ice cubes in the glass, oh you only have crushed ice??? What kind of sweetner do you have.......Oh, I don't do Aspartame, it gives me a headache...Is the large serving 12 or 20 ounces?

I'll have a diet coke instead. Is it from a fountain or in a can? I'd like to have half of it poured and the can on the side....

There is a certain amount of decorum that people refuse to accept when they go out for dinner...

People who have problems with the amount, type and style of eating should spend a nice evening at home....That way they can eat exactly WHAT they want, how they want it and in the amounts as dictated by their "diets".

Servers, hostesses and cooks work hard to make sure the customers are comfortable during their meal. It's a huge turn off to go out for a bite with someone, listen to them order like I described and then have the NERVE to announce to the table, "I hope they get my order right!"

    ---------------------------

People go to buffets, load up their plates, eat half, toss the rest and go back an load up on another........

Kids at a buffet....Kids will kick and scream until they get their plate, eat two bites and toss
    the rest....

    ----------------------------

I was in Laughlin (the OTHER Las Vegas) once and watched while a guy pulled his jacket open and started to pile the fried chicken into a plastic bag....

I just want to tell all of them to either eat what is offered, or eat at home!!!! Geez, I have a husband who does Atkins, faithfully, and even when he eats out, he eats what is available, and doesn't ask for any more favors than leaving the potatoes off of his plate or the croutons off of his salad.

I'm siding with Cataholic and the customers on this. "All you can eat" does not mean - "Oh, but I get a say in what you are eating".

I'm sure that the restaurant doesn't give refunds to people who eat less than their $8.99 worth.

Besides, unless those people are "up-chucking" afterwards, they are probably gaining weight.

I do have to agree with the majority here. I can't even begin to imagine how offened i would have been to be told that i was eating too much at a buffet...that is crazy. Buffets are all you can eat...i have never heard of one that wasnt. If they were truely running out of beef, it was the fault of the employee who didnt order enough, not the man who was eating it...if a big family of 10 came in, and they all ate a serving of meat each, what would they say, "Um, i hate to break it to you, but only half of you can have the roast beef, the other half will have to do w/o because we will run out"....!!! I think not. That is just crazy...bad management!
