That is hilarious!! We had to "garbage-proof" our home when we got Holly. I thought maybe it was just a puppy thing because our other Springer used to leave the garbage alone. But Holly is 2 years old now and still a garbage digger. We have to put our bathroom trash cans on top of the toilet tank and I had to get a really tall trash can with a lid for the kitchen.

You know Staci I almost bought one of those trash cans like yours for my kitchen and then thought that I might come home from work and find one of the cats in there with the flip-floppy lid and all. I could just picture them jumping off the counter into the trash can!

Phred's story reminds me of something that my sister-in-law's german shepherd did once. Like all dogs she just loves to try and get in a quick lick of the dishes in the dishwasher when the humans aren't looking. Well she was having a grand ole time licking away on a plate when her collar got stuck on one of the prongs inside the dishwasher. As she tried to back away the ENTIRE rack came with her. She dragged the whole thing into the family room and was totally freaked! Here is a 80+ pound GSD with a dishwasher rack hanging onto her collar in the family room. Unfortunately no one thought to get the camera!
