I'm like you and wonder why some of the most wonderful cats get over looked. It's the older average looking cat that no one seems to want. How sad. People are always telling me how beautiful my cats are but that wasn't my choice. They were dumped on me and I love them dearly, but my heart breaks for the average looking short hair because people over look them. An older cat can be so kind and loving and way less trouble than a kitten!
It has been said before here on PT about how the cat doesn't give a hoot what we look like and will love us no matter what but people want beauty. What a shame!
    Isn't THAT the truth?!!

I've been guilty of longing after a Ragdoll, but I wouldn't exchange ANY of my so-called "average" kitties for one . . . they have all been bestowed upon me for a reason, and the same can be said for all the cats that cross the path of all of us cat rescuers! Each kitty we help is a blessing.

So that leaves room at the inn...................

Need I add that more are on the way............see next update
Jen, when I adopted Nikki, I was looking for an older cat, one as you said that would be overlooked. Poor Nikki started with an abusive owner(she basically just fed and ignored her) in foster care for 9 months until I came along. She's 3 years old and a little overweight and possibly would't be adopted.

Oh David, I know that there are good people out there, and that hopefully the adults will find great homes, but it is just so discouraging that sometimes ONLY the kittens get attention.

Jen, I volunteer with Cat Sense, a rescue org. in Pittsburgh and today we had THREE adoptions! Dee-Dee a gray DLH, Tikka,a brown tabby, and Dakota, a young black DSH. I happy because Dee-Dee and Tikka are older ones who have spent TOO much time in foster care.
