Oh wow! Ozzy just keeps getting more gorgeous the older he gets. So regal looking. My Oz loves ear rubs and butt scratches too. He'll plop his rear end right up against me, when I'm laying in bed and as you scratch his rear, he'll keep wriggling his butt back and forth and pressing back against you as hard as he can. Finally will have to stop, before he pushes me right off the bed.

Darlin' is cute as ever, especially in the pot.

    How's training going?

Thanks, Par! I was hoping to see you reply.

Training is great! He's had two basic obediance classes, and they've helped so much! He's almost perfected heel, he just need to remember to sit when I stop.
We're thinking of getting him de-barked...he's a HUGE barker, and his sire was debarked, because he was a non-stop barker. Have any info or comments on that?

I'm so excited because only about two or three more monthes until he can start agility classes. He's about 45-50 lbs.

    EDIT**
He's prefect at stay too. I can tell him stay once, and even turn my back and walk away and go pretty much as far as I want as long as it's in his sight range. He's sooo smart. I'll make a thread with pictures of him doing tricks.

Eh...I wouldn't do it. Molly's a HUGE excessive barker to, but my parents wouldn't dare de-bark her. It's painful, (imagine having your vocal cords cut! ) I think if you're serious about it, to get the Citronella Spay Collar. It's sprays out some liquid that dogs hate, and stops them from barking. It's much better then having them de-barked.

Could we find that collar at PetCo or Petsmart? I wouldn't like to have him de-barked either, but..

    Hi Cayter!

Oz has a loud bark too, but he's not a non-stop barker. I really stay on top of him not to bark though. If he's outside and he barks, he has to come right back inside. When we first started walking around the neighborhood, he wanted to bark at people we passed, so I started distracting him with a treat before he could bark at'em. When they walked past and he was quiet, I told him "Good Quiet" and gave him the treat.

I also do the same thing at agility. If he starts getting bored and wants to bark, then I'll either keep heeling him around in a lil' area or I'll make him do a sit or down stay. When he's quiet then I'll tell him "Good Quiet" give him a treat and I keep increasing the stay time before he gets the treat.

I have to say though that inside the house, he's extremely quiet. He really only barks, when I encourage him to, during some of our games. Or on the rare occasions when he hears a noise that isn't familar.

So with your Oz, you may want to try teaching him "Quiet" first or the bark collars. Exhaust all the training methods, before you go the debark route.

    Les...
