before assuming the worst about these people, you need to give them the benefit of the doubt. You could just hand them your flyer and ask them to keep an eye out for your cat. You could even let them know that its the not knowing part that is so hard and you would rather know what happened to Mystic than to have no information at all.

Who knows, the man who made the phone call might be the troublemaker, not these people. Right now, all you have is rumor and speculation.

I'm sorry that Mystic is still missing.

L4M: I still take it that Mystic has not returned and now you have to accept the unthinkable and spend your first Christmas without him. Please know that my prayers go out to you this holiday season.

And to all others who have lost pets or family members this year, as you spend this Christmas with family I know that your thoughts will drift back to your loved ones and I pray that the good memories will bring you comfort.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Ohmygosh, WHO just SHOOTS cats?! What jerks! I say call the cops on this lady, that's not right. Plus, you can see if they even have the right to the gun they are shooting innocent cats with too. I wouldn't let any of my cats out if I were you, now knowing you have neighbors like that. Don't worry about going up and talking to these people, you have a RIGHT to know if they shot your innocent cat and you deserve to know WHY they are doing it and I say you tell them to stop! I am picturing an old fat lady with no teeth and her hair in a bun with a thick southern accent with a rifle in an apron for some reason. UGH! If going right up to the door is too much for you, I would suggest creating a flyer and putting it in people's mailboxes asking if they have seen Mystic and putting a picture on it. I'm so sorry you have to go through this, it's truly a horrible situation. I hope you find Mystic, and give those neighbors hell! Call the police I say.

Thank you Slick. Cheetah is on my lap as I type. No, Mystic has not yet returned and I don't believe he will. It's just something I have to accept and try to not think about.

My cats are indoor/outdoor cats. I try to keep them in but Dan lets them out, and there is nothing I can do about it. I am not about to argue with him over this, as he gets angry enough as it is, and I do not need anymore stress right now. I am stressed JUST THINKING about it! When we move, which is when our taxes come and we get our house the cats will be INDOOR ONLY. I know all the reason's they are supposed to be, and know even more as I work as a vet tech. I have seen tons of cats that were hit by cars and worse. But once Dan let them out, that's that. They are mostly indoors anyhow, and only go out about three times a day. They are always in earshot. Always, besides Mystic. He would always be somewhere sometimes, and I am thinking someone else's house.............actually I pretty much know someone else has them, that is what I feel inside. Or a racoon or dog got to him. But there is only so much I can do without causing a huge fight and splitting my family apart. I am not about to start a whole life ordeal over letting the cats go outside. I am stressed enough already. Actually I'm on the verge of tears just thinking about it.

Plus these suposedly neighbors are VERY far away, way too far for my cats to get to that house, unless something chased them or dropped them off. I mean about 20 minutes walking distance down our rode. My cats are pretty safe here, as the street is far away.

Plus this lady doesn't live there anymore, or just doesn't exist. Also I have made tons of flyers and they are up in every pet related store, grocery store, everywhere. I have been to all the neighbors houses close by door to door, and searched hours and hours. He's been missing for almost a month now. He's not coming back.

Turns out the people don't even live there anymore. In fact, the man divorced his wife, and he sold the house. That was a few years ago, IF the story is true. I PM's Stacy about this and told her the story. The man who called and told me about this person was stalking me, seriously. Stupid ass me put my adress on the poster, and it's not so nice that I was always the one who answered when he called, which was about every 5 minutes. Everytime he called, it was a new story. The latest story was that a man at the very end of the street owned a pit bull and suddenly the owner put a collar with a bell on him, and so the man thought the owner did this because he ate my cat.

He neglected to tell me this lady moved out a LONG TIME AGO! So either this man was crazy or extremely bored or just wanted someone to talk to. He called me so much I had to stop answering his calls, and finally he stopped calling me. I took all the posters down that had my address and put up new ones.

It was really scary because I thought he knew I lived alone. He would call constantly and Dan works all day and it's just Dylan and I here. So I was scared. He really freaked me out.

Cass that don't sound good at all, just cause he quit calling doesn't mean he has gave up. Please do be careful, keep your doors locked. My oldest daughter had a stalker and all he done was seen her at the laundramat, and she had blazer she was wanting to sell, and had our phone number on it, he left her a picture of himself in the back of the blazer, she had the window down, to put her and her husbands clothes in the back, anyway it was a polaroid picture of the lower part of his body. Like to have freaked that girl out. He didn't get her phone number but he got ours, and he would call late of a night, and ask me what I thought of his big, well you know what I am talking about, he thought he was talking to my daughter, I would cuss him out, and the bastard still called. I even had a trace put on his calls, that didn't work, because he called from bars.

You know how I got rid of him? I finally told him I had to have a maginfying glass just to look at that little worm he had attached to him, he never called again.

Funny thing is he thought he was talking to my married daughter. My daughters husband went out and bought her a washer and dryer. She didn't have to go back there again. LOL.

But as far as having inside/ outside cats, that big black cat I have name Stubby, he is an inside/ outside cat. He crys to go out, so I let him out, we live far enough off the road I don't have to worry about him getting in the highway, only thing I worry about is coyotes. Now Grover has hardly been outside her whole life, unless I was with her. At least I don't have to worry about Stubby going out girl hunting, got him neutered when he was 6 months old, I knew it was time, when he started displaying himself a little too proudly. , so off to the vet he went. Grover she is fixed too, I am so happy to say, no screaming like she is being killed.

Sorry I ramble so much Cass, I do that a lot, I like to talk. and talk. and talk.

I just want you to be careful, there are a lot of pervys out there, so just be safe, and I will be glad when you move to you new house.

    Thanks Tray.

I will be careful. I just never thought of not putting my address on there as I thought it would be better if people knew where he dissapeared from, but I guess not.

I do lock my doors everytime Dan leaves. One night we didn't lock our doors and a HUGE thing happened, so they are always locked when I am alone. The weird thing is that I think it's this guy that lives down the street in this trailor with his dog. Everytime I take Dylan to the park I walk by his house and he's always rambling about something. Last time it was how they now have motorized strollers. LOL It's kinda funny, in a weird kinda way.

Ewok is an indoor only cat, Cheetah rarely goes out, just a couple times a day right in front of our house, and Houdini stays out the most. The street is very far away so the only thing I really worry about is loose dogs, raccoons and people stealing your pets. Other than that it's fairly safe. I do think someone has him in their house though.

Cass, that is one thing that has always bothered me. People will steal and animal from its loving family, a family that LOVES its humans. You know perfectly well they don't love it, they just find them attractive and decides they want it. They not only break the heart of the person that love the cat or pet they steal, but they are also breaking the heart of the pet. By taking it somewhere it doesn't want to be, new surroundings, and taking away from their life.

I suppose they know if turned loose, Mystic will come home to you. I think cats have a built in homing device. Who knows, she may escape and show up on your doorstep, I have seen it happen to cats that was given away. I gave a cat away to a friend of mine, that just wanted her so bad, a cat my daughter got when she was little and of course she lost interest after she got interested in boys. My husband hated the cat because she would get upon the table, so I gave her away. Save the peace.

We have a pet door on our house, and about two months after that cat went to live with my friend, late one night I heard such a commotion going on inside the house, I got up and guess who was home? Yeap, my daughters cat had found her way back home. I told my husband she was not leaving this time. To have traveled so far, how could I make her go back, when she was so attached to this family. She is gone now, Rainbow Bridge, I can't even remember what happen to her, So many pets in a lifetime, just can't keep up with them all.

    Just you be careful, Cass.
