After she became lifeless, one boy threw her in the garbage, where my daughter found her and brought her home. She had just got her eyes open, and was so tiny and looked so pitiful.

I wish there were stricter laws guarding against such abuse, but some people are just so heartless. Makes me sick to see stuff like that.
omg I never knew that either Poor Grover. But at least he's in a good home now.

No charges were ever brought against them of any kind, and the teacher just laughed about it. The teachers tried to keep my daughter from bringing Grover to class with her after she found her and cleaned her up, but she brought her anyway. I was very proud of her for that.

She was kind of my mothers day present, Lin brought her to me on April 4, and Grover had just got her little eyes open.

It was just a game to the high school boys, to see who could kick her the fartherest.

Like I said there should be stricter laws enforced to prevent things like this from happening.
Thought I would add a picture of Grover that was taken on Easter.

    Tray,

Grover is just beautiful! I am so proud of your daughter bringing Grover back to the school where she was found. And that teacher has no business teaching if all he did was laugh about the whole incident! Did anyone put in a complaint against this idiot???

Grover's story reminds me of my friend's cat. He was a tiny bundle of fur in Puerto Rico. My friend and her husband saw a bunch of kids kicking around what LOOKED like a football in a junkyard. It turned out to be a kitten, very underweight and sickly. His fur was all matted. My friend took him and he is now a HUGE long haired orangie!! He has also won many awards in various cat shows.

At least with these two stories, they have definite happy endings. It's too bad they can't all have the same thing.

Tray - I remember when you told us about Grover - but I do not remeber that picture showing how tiny she was nor do I remember that a teacher laughed it off. This is just sickening. Did you or anyone file a complaint with the school board about this? Or with the police? I just feel that this behavior needs to hold people accountable - it will never stop but at least it can put up a curb of sorts. Whatever - I am just glad that Grover was rescued and is thriving. Poor little thing! Amazing that she trusts or loves anyone isn't it??

People like that make me SICK to my stomach. We had a case here in CT where a girl's roommate and boyfriend took her cat (Adonis was the cat's name) and beat the cat to death. Why??? Because she was upset with her roommate. The girl and her boyfriend went to trial and NOTHING happened to either one of them.

moosmom,I am glad to hear that sweetie also suvived, who know sweet Grover, even with the funny tail might grow up to be a winner in something! That really made me feel good to hear about the other little one making it through the horrible ordeal and even going on to win in the shows. How exciting for it.

It just doesn't do any good here to say anything about the teachers, or what people do to animals here, the law just turns their head and the school hold up for their teachers. One of these days, I will carry Grover over there to "meet" that teacher, and let Grover deal with him. LOL.

sirrahbed it is wonderful how she loves. She gives me nose kissys, and eyes kissys, and really great face washes. She has really filled my life up so much with the love she gives me. She is the best therapy anybody could ever ask for. She is there when I need comforting. She has her times when she gets very playful, and does she get me good, LOL. I have loved every minute that I have had with her. I tried to get my daughter to go over and tell them idiots that they owed for a vet bill, that she deserved the best vet care money could buy, still thinking about doing that myself.

    P. S. I love talking about Grover, thats my favorite passtime, my husband says I bore him talking about her.LOL.

Unfortunately, there's a good chance that the children and teens involved in these cruel acts were replicating what they live with at home.

I had a hellacious fight with my boyfriend, and he tried to get back at me by going after Don Juan. (Fortunately, Don Juan is very fast.) He is not my boyfriend anymore. 'Nuff said.
