    A related matter that has long puzzled me is why the Moon always keeps the same side facing the Earth. Anybody know?

    Thanks for the link, Richard. If I understand that correctly the Moon is not rotating at all, but keeping the denser side closest to Earth, and wobbling slightly.

    And I thought it was a bunch of penguins in spacesuits walking around up there!
