Sometimes my homepage will change too. But...not to porn...LOL. I'm not sure why it does that though. I'll click out of it, and go to my homepage again, and it will take take me right to PT, where I want it lol.

Anna if it constantly changes and you did not click on anything to allow it to change it for you, then you may have a virus of some sort, or a program that is running on your machine what you may have picked up by accidently clicking on something while you were surfing. Just to be clear, the virus that I mention may not be harmful beyond changing you homepage.
A couple of questions:
1. When you open your browser and it goes to the wrong homepage. Go to the tools menu > Internet options. The first tab will list what IE should be going to, is it what you want.
2. If you click refresh does it take you to your home page or back to the wrong on.
We'll start there.
wolfsoul I think that yours may just be a cache thing. Go ahead and clear that and your cookies(Make sure you know what that does). I would have to know a few more things before making any more guesses.
Go ahead and post back into this thread, if you like or PM me. IF you post back into this thread, let me know through a PM. I almost missed your 2 questions.

Hey Bryan, I picked up a virus just the other day from just visiting a sight about animals, pets. I guess I was really lucky, because my virus program popped up and told me that it had detected a virus, as a matter of fact it said two viruses, anyway I have them quarantined. One is loader[2] exe. and the other was stcloader.exe. The funny thing was as soon as that happened popups just started bombarding my computer, I went to a site that told me how to get rid of it, turn off my system restore and boot into safemode, and run my virus program. It found them and put them in quarantine, and then I went ahead and ran another scan just to be safe. What I was wondering, do you think I could go ahead and delete the quarantined files?
Thank You, kittycats_delight for my new siggy!!!
I do clear out my cookies regularly. What I think it may be, is microsoft trying to get me to go to their website more often, because it is always the microsoft webpage it seems to go to.

Tray, if your computer is running normal in the regular windows mode. I see no reason why deleting the files would matter. When it quarantined the files did it copy tem to another directory? If it did then I would say that it was OK.
wolfsoul I think that MS is just trying to take over your computer.Honestly, I am not entirely sure since you throw in the part about going to MS sites. I have seen alot of programs that do a redirect to a site, but never to MS. Let me think on it and do some research. I'll fire you off a PM in a couple of days and let you know if I figured anything out.

No, it goes to the homepage I don't want. But I can go to >Internet options & change it back to the one I want it it will be fine until I log off, then log back on...then the same old thing.Originally posted by CatDad

It's not actually a porn site that it goes to (www.hardcore....something or other) it's a search engine of some sorts.
Clicking refresh will take me back to the hompage I want only after changing it.
I've checked to see if I have any viruses, but it shows up I don't (but obviously I have one of some sorts).

Anna I will write you a PM sometime this evening.
I want to look at something and reply to a few other post.
Besides, I am pretty sure that everyone else doesn't want to hear me go on and on and on about computers and tedious trobleshooting steps.
I can generally bore someone with computer talk in just under 5 minutes without trying. I think that my record it about a minute.

I was just wondering if when you get to the Microsoft page, is there some kind of directions or something that they are wanting, I know that mine does that sometimes just to remind me to update or something like that, but it doesn't do it that often. When I click on the home Icon, it then carries me to my homepage. What does it say? Just wondering.
