Congrats! I can't wait to see pictures. My Scout is an orange female and she's turning into a real sweetie. I got her from a rescue group that used to be in SuperPetz but just moved into a brand new PetsMart this weekend. I'll be going to check them out this week. I'll probably find another kitty I want, I always do.

Congrats on your new addition!!! I hope everything goes smoothly and I can't wait to hear more about her and also see some pics. As far as males and males getting along, I've found that they generally do better in multiple cat households but some females do well too. I have 4 males and they all get along except for Storm and Cirrus so it does depend on the cats personality. Good luck.

Congratulations on getting a new addition to the family

I currently have 4 males and 1 female. Generally the males get along, but the female (Emily is definitely the "big boss" and everyone knows it).

Good luck with the introductions. Just give it time and everything will work out okay.

    P.S. Happy Thanksgiving!!

I think the woman at Petsmart has a point about the male/female combination. I hate to disagree with Jen, and obviously KAK and her both have happy large households of males, and I had two males before I got my girl, but statistically, you will increase your chances that they will get along if you get a boy and a girl. Or two of the same gender, separated by years of age. (5 years)
These are the guidelines of Siameserescue.org whom I foster for. Check the site out for info on cats.
And if you can be patient, and isolate the new cat for 10 days you will be rewarded. It's for the protection of your own cat, so he doesn't get sick. Many/most cats from shelters will come with a illness, both mine did, it's a part of rescuing a cat. Even Petsmart can't guarantee the total health of their pets. So don't worry if she catches cold, just get her to the vet for care.

Have a happy day picking out your kitty.

    Thanks everyone
Orange females are quite rare aren't they? I'm so glad we're getting one The lady told us to be at Petsmart on Saturday at 9:30 in the morning. She said that they'll go fast, especially the orange female.
We need to start thinking of names, any suggestions?

    a question for Rose

Could it be that Siamese cats (as well as possibly other full bred cats, like abys) could do better in the male/female household and THAT is why the Siamese rescue has it in their guidelines?
(I ask out of sheer curiosity since my own personal experiences have differed from those guidelines......and I've never had a Siamese or any of those types of kitties)
