Excellent photo, you were lucky to have a camera handy, usually I get such good photograph opportunities when my camera is packed neatly at the bottom of a wardrobe!
I agree with the others, you should enter it a contest.

Aly, that picture is so funny, I had to call my husband to see it and we cracked up.
Daisy does the same thing, it's what you call
"Assuming the Position" LOL
Jackie you totally have me laughing! This is off the subject but my mom's dobie Sundance only knows how to sit by the command "Assume the Position" - I was just over there last week and told him to sit and he wouldn't do it. So my mom yelled from the kitchen "ASSUME THE POSITION" and his butt plopped right down!
Hehehe Rachel, when I took the pic, that's exactly what went through my mind!! "Synchronized Butt Licking"![]()

Let me know if anyone finds a contest I can enter that picture into.
I usually miss the great photo opportunities but I keep carrying my camera around with me hoping to catch something. Whenever I'm on the computer, I'll have the camera right with me and the dogs are usually on the bed behind me. Thats how I caught 'synchronized butt licking'. I laugh every time I see that.
Well, this is really tentative so don't celebrate just yet but I think Lolly is permanent![]()

You mean Lolly isn't tormenting Shiloh too much?
And what does Shiloh think about that canine behavior?
Shiloh is loving this. There is actually a dog scared of her! She knows that all she has to do is walk slowly in front of Lolly, and that will send Lolly running so she is always abusing her powers. I swear, she looks so smug when Lolly runs in circles whining!
Running and whining is the most I have seen Lolly do except for a few incidents when I first brought her home where she lunged and growled. She is VERY easily called off though, unlike Harley who had the terrier attitude. This may be the key difference as someone pointed out to me in another thread (was it Rachel?). I'm still watching and supervising closely though.

Lolly must have a real desire to please her
person. Given her experience with being
not only abandoned but also separated from
everyone She knew and felt safe with.
Lolly's' GOT THE MESSAGE' about Shiloh.
Now Shiloh should also 'GET THE MESSAGE'
that Lolly means her no harm!!!
Great progress with their introduction.

Well I don't want to tell you what to do but... *cough cough keep Lolly cough*Hehe. All fingers and paws are crossed that Reece gets a sister!
I agree Bridget! If that picture didn't show that they were "a match" nothing else will!![]()
I think there will eventually be peace with Shiloh. It doesn't sound like the Harley scenario at all. I don't want to tell you what to do either Aly but *cough cough keep Lolly, cough*

I think I own my dog, but it owns my heart and home
Adjustment often comes at its own pace in its own time. I think what you have with Lolly and Shiloh is something that will take time but eventually work its way through. Relatively speaking they have been together such a short time.
I've had Tucker for two years now and I just noticed a couple days ago that he was allowing me to comb the hair around his tail and butt without any struggle. I have always been very careful so not to pull or hurt him in any way, and I had concluded that I never be able to groom him in a relaxed manner. The surprise was on me. It seems my efforts are finally paying off. He is not even trying to twist or turn away from me.
I'm not trying to tell you what to do either. I just have this strong belief that should you decide to keep her, the relationship between her and Shiloh will improve with time. I'm not saying it wouldn't be without problems or not need extra effort on your part, but I have seen such an change in my animals over the course of time, that I have an abundance of optimism.

I agree with Rachel, I am not trying to tell you what to do, but I am worried about Shiloh and Lolly's terrier instinct. I am also concerned about when you move next year and can only have 2 pets. I am worried about that the most. I know what you went thru with Harley and don't want to see your gentle spirit go thru it again.![]()
I commend you on taking care of Lolly and I know how quickly you bonded with her. Shaianne and I bonded immediately also, she was following me around and whining when I left the room the very first night I brought her home.
I am just worried about you and Shilohbut that's what friends are for!!!

Thanks for worrying StaciI forgot to mention that part. I am going to beg the lanlord. If they say no, one of two things will happen: 1) I won't move there, or 2) my sister will take Lolly for 6 months until I can find a place where I will be allowed to have her. So don't worry, when I adopt her if anything goes wrong, she has a backup home with my sister where I will be able to see her anytime I want.
As far as her relationship with Shiloh, it seems to be getting better day by day. The worse things happened the 3rd or 4th day Lolly was here and it has been calm since then. I never leave them together when I'm not home and never plan on it. Reece and Lolly stay in my room and Shiloh runs the rest of the rooms. I have been able to keep Reece out of the crate when I'm gone and Lolly helps him a bit with his seperation anxiety. He helps Lolly with hers too. They will both still whine and yelp some, but nowhere near where they used to.
