GREAT NEWS! I was just talking to Rosemary and Mandy tested Negative for FIV and FELV! What a relief! Apparently they tested her blood again and her white cell count is still low, but they said that its probably normal for Mandy where she is such a small cat.

If some of you recall, the same EXACT thing happened to me with Toby a long while ago. In the end his blood came back normal and they did the operation. The fact that this same thing happened to Rosemary at the same vet seems a bit suspicious to me. Has anyone had this happen to them?

What great news!! See?? Pet Talk prayers do help. What a wonderful community we have here
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

Whew! What a relief! I'm so glad to hear that Mandy tested negative for FeLV and FIV. I've had something similar happen to me. When Sunny had a blood test done he had a low platelet count and a high glucose level so then I had to bring him back 2 weeks later to have him tested again and luckily it was normal. During those 2 weeks I was thinking the worst. I think Sunny's problem is that he becomes very stressed at the vets and this can effect some test results.
Hopefully Mandy's normal count is just low because she's so small and that this is just normal for her. If Rosemary is still not satisfied with the results then she could also go to another vet for a second opinion.

Thanks Johanna for posting my wonderful news. I am so relieved. Today I am on cloud 9. I cannot stop smiling.

The vet said it would be okay for Mandy to be spayed today but I decided to give the little girl and myself a break from all this stress. Mandy hates the car and had to take a 20 min ride to the vet and then 20 min back three days in a row. This alone gets her upset plus the three blood tests didn't help. The new date for her spay is September 11th. She also has to have bloodwork done again on the 9th. If her white blood cell count is still low they are going to accept that this is normal for Little Mandy. Another thing that makes my special girl unique. Here are a couple of pictures of Little Mandy. I may have posted them before but I want to all to see my Special Little Mandy again.

What a relief! I'm so glad Mandy is OK. I think lots of cuddles and playtime are in order, to compensate for all those horrible car rides

I will try to get my film developed this weekend. Mandy is usually too active to take a good picture so I really hope at least one of them has no red eye or shadow.
