What to say, for sure a byb & a really bad one at that! I agree w/ all the posts sp far. A true breeder does not do MANY of things she does! Oh my... how sad. Breeding mixes on purpose????? There are PLENTY of them at shelters being put down every day! How sick. Breeding customers dogs. Not registered & probably not even fully vet checked w/ x-rays, blood tests etc... but still hundreds & hundreds of $'s I could go on & on & on & on. That makes me want to puke!!!!! totally sickening!
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

    How awful!!!
She solicits female dogs?? If this was a human grooming shop (hair salon, whatever), and a someone solicited all of the "cute" females who came in to get with the gorgeous male, it wouldn't be legal. It shouldn't be for dogs either

I solicit female dogs to breed at my grooming shop. I tell people how cute their females are and they usually breed with my boys and that's how I get my pups to sell. I get pick and I usually help sell the whole litter. I have been breeding Poodle mixes for 10 years.

byb.. A person in their right mind would never do that... that is such bull... And look at all the puppies?!?!?

She has a very glitzy website. I checked her out a bit & found
this report from earlier this year.

    Agency probes pet shop, home
    By Neda Raouf
    Staff writer
NORWALK - A local animal control authority served a search warrant Friday at a pet store and the store owner's home after receiving customer complaints, including allegations of the sale of sick animals, officials said.
Southeast Area Animal Control Authority searched Anna's Pet Grooming and questioned employees while they also searched the home of Anna Berardini, said SEAACA Capt. Aaron Reyes.

Officers were investigating complaints about sick animals, animal treatment and allegations that Berardini treats animals herself for conditions for which a veterinarian should be consulted.

"On the surface, it's (about) sick animals, but it's how the animals become sick, how they are treated or not treated," Reyes said.

Several boxes were removed from both locations to be analyzed and possibly used in an impending criminal case, said Reyes, who declined to comment on what officers found.

Also, four sick puppies were impounded and will be kept for observation and treatment at SEAACA, he said.

Berardini, in a telephone interview, denied the allegations, saying that she follows the law and takes the best care of dogs and cats at her store. She also accused SEAACA officials of targeting her.

"SEAACA has done everything they can to hurt me," she said. "I don't care what SEAACA does. They will never break me."

Reyes denied that the agency has gone after Berardini and said it has investigated several other pet stores in the area.

"We have an obligation to (help) the animals in the community," he said, adding that over the past two years, SEAACA has had at least 10 independent complaints about Berardini's store from people across Southern California. "We do not get complaints about other pet stores like we do about Anna."

SEAACA led a team including officers from the San Diego and Pasadena humane societies, sheriff's deputies and two Norwalk code enforcement officers.

Officials closed the home and the business for at least four hours while the search took place.

While searching the pet store, officers said they received at least two phone calls from customers complaining about having bought sick animals at the store, and that will also be part of the investigation, investigators said.

Store employees … groomers and bathers … were questioned and then stood outside as officials searched the premises. A veterinarian employed with SEAACA examined animals inside, Reyes said.

Karen McArthur, a store employee who has worked there for about two years, said she has not seen or heard about problems with sick pets or bad care.

Two employees, Brenda Britton and Lordes Castillo, who both have worked at the store for more than a decade grooming and bathing animals, denied ever having heard customer complaints.

Several customers, who stopped by the store after the warrant was served, said they had not had any problems with the care their pets had received there.

Curtis Raines and his wife have been customers at the store for at least eight years … giving their two dogs flea dips and grooming every few months … and have no complaints.

Another customer, Ed Ureta, said he and his mother have brought their dog to Anna's for about three years.

"My mother loves this place," Ureta said. "She takes the dog here every time it gets sick or if it needs grooming."

Berardini said she rescues dogs and cats and has been in business for decades. Also a breeder, she treats some of the dogs she sells, giving them shots and antibiotics as well as other care, but she does not treat other people's pets, she said.

SEAACA officials are asking anyone who has purchased a pet from Anna's Pet Grooming or has any additional information to contact Cpl. Stephen Vaisa at (562) 803-3301, ext. 235.

Yes, she is borderline puppy mill. This is the sickest thing I've seen in a long time. I'd like to go to her shop and knock some sense into her

Grrrr...people like her make me SICK.

First of all, people that actually breed mixes are complete idiots. Is she unaware of how many mixes are actually in shelters?

Second, anyone who actually buys a dog from her makes me just as sick. What's the deal? And how could she possibly be charging so much for those puppies (especially mutts)? It's insane. I don't care what kind of mixes they are, or how proud that woman is of what she does...she's a backyard breeder, and it definitely borders on being a puppy mill.

Ay, excuse me while I go scream...

What a stupid urrgh! A few years ago while living in Whittier this lady was arrested after being convicted of animal cruelty and a HUGE investigation by the Downey Humane Society........even though Downeys animal control discusts me. Their dogs are always in dirty cages with feces etc. Anyways, this lady has been known in Los Angeles and Orange County for some times, in fact she used to go to the Orange Pound to adopt dogs to breed!

I used to see her around town all the time, going into the Whittier Quad to go shopping with her dogs with her. This lady has literally TONS of dogs, and no matter what the law tries to do she still breeds. She is worse than a backyard breeder, she is a puppymill!!!!!!

Anyways, the Downey animal control or whatever you call it, took a lot of her puppies. What's sad is that you know what? The animal control shelter there is worse than the dogs being with her. That place is absolutely discusting. You can ask any animal lover in nearby cities that have been there, their place reaks to high heavens. Their dogs always have kennel cough or the puppies have parvo. My family still lives in Whittier and the last time they went to the shelter they said it was a little bit better, but it still needs a lot of work. People in those cities ;La Habra, Whitter, Pico Rivera, Downey, Norwalk etc. don't give a damn about their pets. Anyways the whole area just needs to be bombed or something....it's discusting. I don't know why my parents moved there in the first place.

Sorry about the rant, I am just not a big fan of the people who live there or California anymore for that matter. YUCK!

Sorry to burst your bubble there, but the nearest animal shelter is in Downey, and it's not a pretty one. As far as her ptes having shots, she does take them to get vaccinated as she used to come into the clinic I worked at, Pico Rivera Animal Hospital and believe it or not, was Dr. Gorayas friend, which is why I know just a teanie bit more about this crazy lady.

I can understand why Dr. Goraya and her were friends, as neither of them had any compassion for animals at all. They used to do surgeries on the animals at the clinic when they were half awake and they could feel it. Which is one of the reason I quit........

They won't do anything besides give her another "warning" and confiscate her animals. You should check for articles in the Whittier Daily News I think it is called, you should find more info in there.
