Improvising!
This is the best way to make cat toys. Why? Because my cat prefers things around the house to store bought toys (with the exception of her squeaky mouse!) ... in addition to the mouse, her toys consist of:
1) A heart cushion that she has ripped the stuffing out of
2) A little pouch full of catnip (thanks to Catmandu)
3) A ball of spare wool made by her "Grandma"
4) A peg tied to a string of wool
5) Two cardboard boxes that also happen to be moonlighting as furniture
6) A pair of stockings with holes in them
7) A floppy hat that I got from the Leukaemia Foundation
8) My hair, and anything else she takes a fancy to!
Mum to two little humans, a very vocal 14 year old Ragdoll, and a super energetic and snuggly rescue kitten.
