Oooohhh that would be soo nice if you could talk him in to letting you adopt her, then I could come visit lol and I would be happy to dog sit if you ever needed a sitter

There are currently 8 hounds at the shelter, this is the only male and he is still pretty young. I never met the dog but he looks like a sweety.

"Roger is a mostly black and white male hound about 2-3 yrs old. He was brought to the shelter the middle of January after being picked up on the side of a road. Roger is very nervous around people but is starting to come around, and is now confident enough to spend the day outside with the other dogs. Roger needs a very special home where someone is willing to take time to spend with him as we believe he has not been treated well in the past."

Sorry the pics not very clear. This one is better then the other in the other pic he was crouching in the corner.

Do you live in Ottawa ??

Tanya, Here's another idea - print out a picture of one of the hounds that you like the best, put it in a stand-up frame and set it at your place on the table, then while your on the floor feeding Hans, your husband will get to look at the other dog...... yeah, i was raised on guilt! Unless of course the beer works...which is a much better method or saturday road trip....

Tanya, there are many pure bred rescue organizations for which you can search on the web. They should be able to give you some information on the individual dogs as I think most rescue organizations use foster homes. It may take a little time and effort, but I am sure you could find a dog that both you and your husband would be happy with. What kind of breed is he interested in?

Tanya, drag hubby to the computer to show him the "Dog of the Day" whenever it is a rescue like today's dear Bernie. After reading about a few of these wonderful animals, he should be a little less apprehensive about 'adopting'.

    Last dog I will post

I know its not a hound but every dog deserves a chance so I will post it to.

"Hershey is a big and boisterous lab retreiver cross who, because of his size would be best suited to a home with older children. He has long silky black fur and deep alluring eyes. Hershey is a very active and intelligent 13 month old boy who enjoys to play and already understands many commands and tricks. He also has the amazing quality of being a rather silent boy. Hershey so enjoys the company of others and eagerly awaits his new home. Could it be yours?"

He is a young male so I thought your husband might like it better

    Ilovehounds,

Yes, I live in Ottawa. Well, I'll see what I can do about convincing my husband. He's interested in getting another schnauzer.
