Well one day a few months ago I was surfing Petfinder and saw Cobb Care Humane Society in New Haven, IN (which is basically connected to Fort Wayne). So I called and Vicki and I talked and that was about it. Well on and off during the school year I would call her (in fact she was going to take Spot if Amy hadn't) and we would talk. Then when school got out I called her and told her I was free for the summer and what did she want done. She responded, "Where should I start!" I laughed and then volunteered to help her with the booth at Canal Days (the kick off to Northeast Indiana's festival season). Well, Mike and I got REALLY involved and she liked how pushy I was telling people we needed donations and people responded. In fact, another vendor came over and dropped a $5 bill in the bottle and wanted more information and came over to Vicki's house (where the shelter is housed for the moment) and wants little Foxy, the cutest little dog you've ever seen, which is a Heinz 57 and we can't figure out WHAT she is! lol Anna got to meet Foxy yesterday when she dropped Rose off.

And like Phred said......HELP US OUT!! lol

Vicki started this last August and has her not for profit status and is run totally off donations and pet adoptions. She now is able to give shots (except Rabies) and she got her free Avid reader and she will microchip the pet if they pay her $10...an incredible deal. And for awhile she was doing EVERYTHING. She now has a secretary and decided that 3 days ago that she wanted me to be vice president because I'm just so darn mouthy! hehehehe

Hey Amy, just so you know....Jade and Xena's parents were: dad; full black lab, mom: 1/2 lab and 1/2 coonhound.

Hey! We just saved 6 more today. We brought 4 home with us and picking 2 up on Monday.

    1. Babs, 1.-1 1/2 yo, female, Beagle/Bassett? mix yellow with white

    2. Freckles, 7-8 months, female, we can't decide what mix, yellow with white

    3. Blackie, 5-6 yo, Beagle mix, male, black with a little brown and some white

    4. Spot, 1 yo, white with brown spots, Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix, male

    Picking up on Monday:

    5. Sherry (she's my fav) Aussie mix with something, brown with black splashes, 1-2 yo, female

    6. Sparky, male, 2-3 yo Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix, mostly white with some black and brown on his head.
