Oh i have always wanted a pet skunk. They are adorable, almost like big ferrets. I love the spotted one, I could not open the red one but I will look around for a pic of one.
Veegan: I know a lot of people in CA that have ferrets & they are illegal there so why not get a skunk where you live?LOL

I know, lv4dogs, Im with ya. lol It wont be hard for me either, my dad is a vet and can get the shots and rabies, etc for me, and he can spay/neuter it for me. Id really have no probs, Id just be extra careful with who saw it and handled it. I think it is such an absurd law. I mean its a law that makes sense to break. lol They are legal in so many other states, and the problems law makers have with skunks are so easy to fix.

So ferrets are illegal in CA?? I thought I had read that a little while ago.. It was either that they are, or that they were or are thinking about, making them illegal, I couldnt remember exactly. Thats so weird to me.. Wasnt it like some issue about if a pet one escapes they can damage the wildlife population or something?? I cant remember what I read or where but my my brain is remembering something along those lines. haha It seems so funny to me to hear that they are illegal there, cause I see them everywhere here. Its probably the same way with skunks in other states as compared to WA.

    about ferrets killing live stock

the law in california is crazy, I have 7 ferrets and they love to play with my cats, they do nottry and eat him, or the dog for that matter. They would like to eat my hamster however LOL I wont let them tho but to see a escaped ferret chasing down soem cows would um be a sight I must say LOL they do bite when playing and you have to train them to not, but I absolutly love my fuzzies and think states banning certain animals is crazy!
what is their excuse for banning skunks? I cant imagine them being a threat to live stock either lol what family are the skunks in? are they like a ferret(whos a carnivore) or are they considered rodents (I dont think so) I know a lot of people think ferrets are rodents and they arent (not that there are anyhting wrong with rodents, I think rats are adorable.)
I would love to own a skunk, I wonder if they would get along with my ferrets? I have a pet store here that has ferrets, chinchillas, hedghogs but no skunks

    :)

LOL ``actually`` I do believe they would chase the cows because that is their nature heheh they love to chase hoomans and dogs and cats and nip at their toes, that is their play, but honestly , to ban them for being destructive to live stock LOL thats nuts, they arent gonna eat them , they wanna play (dookin-noises they make- and dancing - hopping all over the place acting like little nut cases LOL)

a lot of laws are crazy, I mean GERBILS are illigal in a lot of places! why? because in a large herd they can destroy livestock, ok and how often are you going to find a HUGE herd of FEREL GERBILS running killing livestock
